Cigarettes ,whisky and wild wild women
dbdumonteil12 January 2016
There were lots of French covers of the American classic song "cigarettes whisky and wild wild women" ,a big hit over here in the late fifties by notably Eddie Constantine and Annie Cordy.

Hence a movie in which Cordy sings the song of course! It's not much of a movie, but it's funny in places and it features actors who would become famous later on:Pierre Mondy and Jean Carmet.

The story :Martine runs a sports center for women ,but they are short of the readies .To avoid seizure, she turns her health club into a nightclub with plenty of whisky and wild women. The girls have found lots of cases of liquor in their cellar ,but this whisky is the "property" of smugglers who are not prepared to accept it when they realize that the wild women sell them their own alcohol.Besides two customs officers, not that much smart, investigate . Annie Cordy convincingly parodies the American vamp.A comic actress, she broached more interesting parts from the early seventies onwards, thanks to people like Chabrol or Granier-Deferre.
