Life was very cruel that passed and cultivated oneself according to a religious doctrine, the girls were told once receiving a training in the institute, they want to fight with one's own natural instincts (nature ). As the person who dedicates oneself to God, my understanding is, should not feel happy for for " one's own " honor in the external wielding , shouldn't is it is it offer heart of one non- of a one's own one to regard the honor as to have even. It is willful and arrogant to be otherwise probably one kind.

You perhaps can cheat a lot of things, but you can cheat heart and God since. Since the heart and God. So, a simple 'happiness' mood is produced, can observe the mirror of one's own soul as one side. The nun's happiness is not to wish eagerly what one's own love and service must be gained, falling in love with the emperor, easy owner is perhaps the only happiness. If has received the repayment of the love because of carelessness , then should not receive for the private happiness either, and should be interpreted as the feedback of God's bounties , stem from God , belong to God. First of all, what is the contradiction? Is it system , rule or faith of cultivating oneself according to a religious doctrine? I'm afraid there are the two. Sister Luke is exactly that the ideal of mediating the two has fallen into the self- predicament. But the latter's problem seems to be a problem unable to solve . Follow Christ to practice , can not love all people at the specific problem, loyal on heart , loyal to Christ since too. It is to break away from the constraint on the system of can repairing not to do nuns , but only become Christ's bride, and still love Christ, then the contradiction on belief is unable to end.

Incomparably pious to one's own faith, become a great nurse at the same time . But religious belief and personal ideal, the war,contradictions of different cultural areas can't be mediated, leave the convent finally, continue looking for the way in life.People live in reality after all , turmoil because of the society of the rise of the religion, but has witnessed cruel reality under faith, Sister Luke has not suspected the religious doctrine , not there is not animosity God, but examine oneself, is not this great ? Perhaps perfection people of the religion are too difficult to reach, take on everybody and accomplish the stage of Gabrielle van Der Mal, I believe the universal fraternity that the religion teaches but like this. Perhaps will have no war then, perhaps no longer make people perplexed.

What this film is inquired after is the essence of the spirit of the religion and people. That was told is to pursue the religion and one's own spiritual relation alone (can be said people's relation with essential essence and religion too) have gone through the change because of the war of national society, the religion makes the state , friendship , kindred and love in different areas culture. It is like a philosophy proposition even more, but not a film. Because its is true, not like a film, it is a tragedy or the miserable atmosphere that it has not made one artificially , it have a relaxed one for a moment and spirit ask and depth and scale that answer. It lets nature take its course, even if its theme is very great. Other films about religion are all anything fierce special, from the basic angle, those are not essence of the religion and people's essential relation, and relation and thinking under the natural state. After this film is seen, make you become quiet and ponder.

Director Fred Zinnemann's narration ability reaches very high realm, this is his best work.The inner world of Sister Luke is complicated, set against.Gabrielle van Der Mal that Audrey Hepburn was acted was an immortal role, the deepest and most complicated role.The performance of Audrey Hepburn is incredible and incomparable,one of the greatest performances in the cinema.Other actors' performances are all great.
