Hayley Atwell’s Captain Carter appeared in plenty of Marvel-based projects. She played the role of alternative Captain America most recently in ‘What If…?’ Season 2 and most of the episodes featured her to some extent. She also appeared in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ as an Avenger and a founding member of the Illuminati. In 2018, she fought in the Infinity War and helped defeat Thanos in the Battle of Titan. Later, she voted to execute Doctor Strange due to his use of the Darkhold, which led to a multiversal incursion.
Captain Carter also had her own show in pre-Disney+ days titled ‘Agent Carter’ which was pretty successful with the fans. Now in the most recent Q&a, Alex Perez confirmed that Captain Carter will still be a massive part of the Marvel Multiverse, as she will appear again in ‘What If…?’ Season 3 and apparently will play a role...

What We Do in the Shadows star Harvey Guillén recently shared an exciting update about the forthcoming sixth and final season of the acclaimed FX mockumentary series.
During an interview with MovieWeb, Guillén revealed that production on What We Do in the Shadows Season 6 is already underway and "almost halfway done." While Shadows was renewed for a final season in December 2023, Guillén shared that the cast always had a feeling that the show wouldn't air for more than six or seven seasons. "We got the feeling that at six or seven, people tap out. It's a good chunk of time, because if you think about it, by the time we finish season six and it comes out, we are looking at devoting over seven or close to eight years of our lives from the pilot to the show," he explained. Former HBO Europe execs Johnathan Young and Ioanina Pavel have resurfaced with their own indie.
The pair have launched May One, which will be based in Bucharest, Romania — one of the former homes of HBO Europe. They are out of the gate with Subteran, a Netflix series announced last October that is produced alongside Tudor Rue from Mobra Films and now filming.
May One will seek to develop, produce and provide creative partnership for quality series shot in Romania, working with established and new talent from both within and outside the country. The company will look to open up Romanian resources and talent to the international industry to create collaborations in Europe and beyond.
In that sense, it harks back to HBO Europe’s ethos, which sought to bring together Central Eastern European talent with others from Western Europe and the U.S. It was considered one of the key international producers in the region,...

Lord Tion, Princess Leia's rival, was introduced in the 1981 Star Wars radio drama and has a significant impact on the narrative of A New Hope. The radio dramas added additional dialogue and expanded sequences to the original trilogy movies, now canonically part of the Star Wars Legends timeline. Lord Tion's death before A New Hope serves as a catalyst for the Rebellion's actions and reveals the darker side of the Rebellion's tactics.
The Star Wars Legends continuity gave Princess Leia a prominent enemy before the events of A New Hope, and this villain exists in the current canon as well. Leia’s rival, the sinister Lord Tion, was introduced in the 1981 Star Wars radio drama, which is now a part of Legends. As with many characters, locations, and concepts from Legends, Lord Tion gained a counterpart in the current continuity, though he likely lacks the same background and fate as his original incarnation.

Meta documentary “Bushman” is receiving a 4K restoration and, for the first time, a multi-city theatrical release.
Director David Schickele’s 1971 film began as a fictional comedy starring his friend Paul Eyam Nzie Okpokam, following the “adventures of a well-educated Nigerian immigrant in San Francisco,” per the official synopsis. However, after Okpokam was wrongfully accused of a real-life crime, “Bushman” shifts to being a documentary about how Okpokam was imprisoned before being deported.
Filmmaker Schickele shot “Bushman” in 1968 after returning from the Peace Corps. Schickele’s is billed as being in the docu-fictional style vein of John Cassavetes’ “Shadows.” Kino Lorber and Milestone Film & Video supported the 4K restoration, which will screen January 15 at MoMA’s To Save and Project festival.
The 75-minute black-and-white film was shelved for decades after its initial release but is regarded by film scholars as a milestone of Black representation in American cinema, especially...

Out of all the cursed techniques revealed so far in Jujutsu Kaisen, Megumi Fushiguro’s 10 Shadows Technique has the most mystery surrounding it. Apart from the near limitless potential it seems to have and how diverse its combat applications have been, the Ten Shadows Technique is the only thing in the series that has piqued the interest of Ryomen Sukuna. For someone who has been described as living solely in accordance to his pleasure and displeasure, Sukuna allowing himself to be influenced by another’s technique is some of the highest praise in the entire series.
Users of the Ten Shadows technique are granted two shikigami in the shape of large dogs when it first manifests. Although his name might be unfamiliar to a young generation of moviegoers, John Cassavetes was a giant in raising the profile of independent film in America. As a young man, after enrolling in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, he took on small parts in films and appeared in episodic television until he picked up a camera and exploded onto the indie film scene with his 1959 film “Shadows.” From there, he went on to write and direct “Faces” (1968), which earned three Oscar nominations and eventually to 1974’s “A Woman Under the Influence,” which starred his wife Gena Rowlands (whom he met at the American Academy) in arguably her most triumphant performance. Cassavetes is such an important figure in independent cinema that every year, the Independent Spirit Awards present the John Cassavetes Award to the year’s best film that cost less than $500,000.

Nadja stands out as the best character in What We Do In The Shadows due to her complex personality and hilarious moments. Her ability to enjoy her own company and form unique relationships, such as with a ghost doll, adds depth to her character. Nadja's diverse range of skills and her role as a leader in the vampire world make her a formidable and entertaining presence.

When Martin Scorsese finally won the directing Oscar for 2006’s The Departed, he inspired a handful of film buffs to point out the supposed travesty implied by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences long ignoring the landmark titles on the filmmaker’s resume in favor of a remake. Few pointed out, or seemed to recall, that America’s most beloved living auteur, was not only no stranger to remakes, but took up the business of remaking, rebooting, and paying homage as a more than honorable foundation for a now-legendary body of work.

We hear the film will follow 13-year-old Gingernut as she grows up with the fur trade’s decline playing out in the background. The plot will see her trying to make sense of her parents’ dysfunctional relationship and include themes of family, growing up, betrayal, love and loss.

Warning: This article contains Spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen #237If taking out Satoru Gojo wasn't shocking enough, Jujutsu Kaisen fans must now come to grips with the likelihood that Sukuna has now rendered a triumphant - and needed - return of Megumi Fushiguro impossible, suggesting that the popular characters is dead for good.
While the latest chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen is primarily focused on the fight between Sukuna and Hajime Kashimo, the last panel reveals a startling pivot. Sukuna's appearance has changed from his modified Megumi physical form to his original body. Previously, this form was only seen in flashbacks of when Sukuna roamed the Earth as himself, before he was defeated by the Jujutsu sorcery community and sealed away. Even more startling than that sight was the implications it raised, namely that Sukuna has completely taken possession of Megumi's body and permanently overwritten his soul.

Initiations are a delicate dance. If the welcome party is too genial, too forthcoming, or too needy, they can come across desperate, phony, or otherwise off-putting. But if greeters go the other way, it can feel like draconian hazing (at best) or outright hostility (at worst). The Guide, Kristen Schaal’s part-time vampiric player promoted to series fang-ular in Season 5, faces the latter version when she moves into a dilapidated Staten Island mansion occupied by four long-term roommates. Excluded, forgotten, and derided, The Guide takes her licking week after week, until Episode 9, “A Weekend at Morrigan Manor,” when she tricks her housemates into an impromptu vacation, then locks Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) in silver-lined cages and forces them to answer for their abominable behavior.

Long before What We Do in the Shadows became a mega-popular FX TV series, it was a movie co-written, co-directed, and co-starring Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi. Among the fantastic crew was Yana Gorskaya, whose editor role played just as much a part in crafting the voice for the now-iconic film.
Gorskaya has worked on several of Waititi's features, including Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit, and the soon-to-be-released Waititi-directed feature, Next Goal Wins. There's also word that, on the horizon, Gorskaya will direct for the series adaptation of Terry Gilliam's absolutely bananas, globe-trotting romp, Time Bandits.

Note: This story contains spoilers from “What We Do in the Shadows” Season 5, Episode 7.
There’s an unofficial rule on the set of “What We Do in the Shadows:” no fully CGI characters. So when Paul Jones, the series’ longtime prosthetics and animatronics designer, heard that there would be an episode filled with hybrid Guillermo creatures, he knew he was in for a challenge.
“Paul [Simms] knew right away that this was a lot of work for anybody, and he was able to schedule that toward the end of filming. I actually had probably about eight weeks lead up to it,” Jones told TheWrap.
That eight-week runway allowed for a lot of testing on one of the wildest episodes of the FX comedy series. All season long, Laszlo (Matt Berry) has been experimenting on Guillermo (Harvey Guillén), trying to determine what it means that his housemate is both a vampire...

This article does not spoil plot points What We Do In The Shadows season 5 episode 7, but reveals how certain special effect scenes are done.
The title of What We Do in the Shadows season 5 episode 7 “Hybrid Creatures” gives away the guest stars who hide their true selves behind bleats, ribbits, and floor-burning flatulence. Laszlo (Matt Berry) deems his experiments to slow vampiric progression a failure, and orders scientific containment. Guillermo (Harvey Guillén), the one evolving into a vampire, is the container. He is given a sidearm to dispatch of the monstrosities created when science gets mad.
To understand the workings of the former familiar’s curious evolution, and a few giggles, Laszlo has been splicing Guillermo’s DNA with stray animals. We’ve already seen Guillermo’s face on levitating frogs, but now there is a whole litter to be cleaned. The vampires have an infestation of Guillermo-things, and there...

Many truths threaten to be revealed on “Local News,” as a water main break in Staten Island forces the vampires into exposure, and their familiar readies to move on. What We Do in the Shadows, season 5 episode 5 reaches a high-water mark in comedy for the series, and a dramatic high point for Guillermo de la Cruz (Harvey Guillén).
Nandor the Relentless (Kayvan Novak) proved vampires can ascend to the inner reaches of outer space during “Pride Parade;” Guillermo is close to cracking the glass ceiling for human familiars. While Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), Laszlo (Matt Berry), and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) deal with oversaturation in the media, their most useful human liaison is preparing for a major career move. At least that’s what he tells his family. It promises to be a big change.

Actor who starred in John Cassavetes’s Shadows and gave Michael Caine the plans for the heist in The Italian Job
The lacerating 1959 drama Shadows, a pinnacle of US independent film-making, heralded two striking new talents: the director John Cassavetes and the actor Lelia Goldoni, who was just 20 when she gave a guileless performance combining wistful romanticism and mercurial restlessness. She played Lelia – all the actors in the film share their first names with their characters – who is an African-American woman “passing” for white. Goldoni herself was of Sicilian descent.
When Lelia’s white boyfriend meets one of her darker-skinned brothers (Hugh Hurd) and realises that she is black, his discomfort inflames tensions in the household and sends aftershocks through the rest of the film.

Coming into its fifth season, FX’s vampire mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows has nothing left to prove, and barely anything to improve upon. Mark Proksch has been a star of the critically acclaimed “What We Do in the Shadows” for five seasons now, but despite the FX series’ numerous awards nominations, passionate fanbase and longevity, the actor still makes more money off his limited run on “The Office” than he does on a currently running series that’s been nominated for 17 Emmys.
“I make more from one season of guest starring on ‘The Office’ than I’ve made for every season of ‘Shadows’ combined,” Proksch told TheWrap ahead of the series’ Season 5 premiere. This discrepancy comes down to residuals, one of the issues at the front of SAG-AFTRA’s possible strike against the AMPTP.
Proksch has played series regular Colin Robinson the energy vampire since Episode 1 of “What We Do in the Shadows,” which has released 40 episodes and is set to debut its fifth season this week. By contrast, Proksch’s guest starring...

Despite being separated by 25 years, the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws and 1997’s Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire share some key common elements. They both take place between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, in the original film trilogy. In both games, players assume control of morally dubious renegades who start out fighting only for themselves.
This time period in Star Wars lore is intriguing, as it takes place in a harsh one for those on the good side of the Force. Though the first Death Star was destroyed, another is under construction and the Rebel Alliance is very much on the back foot - the Galactic Empire and criminal syndicates are continually seizing more power. Stealing some story points from Shadows of the Empire could aid Ubisoft's upcoming Star Wars Outlaws in achieving greatness.

After teasing some of the goodies in the upcoming “Tide of Shadows” live event for Hunt: Showdown earlier this month, Crytek has kicked off the event today. “Tide of Shadows” features new challenges, gameplay, weapons, story, and a new boss in Rotjaw for the duration of the event, which runs until August 23.
The new live event introduces a new Boss category in the Wild Target, with Rotjaw being the first. Unlike other Boss enemies in the game, Rotjaw will not be found inside a compound. Instead, she lurks in the waters of the Bayou. Designed for a new gameplay experience, Rotjaw will force Hunters to improvise while defending in the wide open spaces. Players must make decisions on the fly about how to approach and dispatch this giant croc, earning a Bounty Token if they succeed.

Harvey Guillén always loved to get dressed up. He cannot say the same of shopping. “Going to the mall was so hard,” says the What We Do in the Shadows star. “Somebody made a meme of what it is to be a person of size going shopping with your friends. Everyone else is like, ‘I got this cute outfit, I got this cute top, I got these cute jeans.’ Meanwhile I’m like, ‘I got this cute bracelet.’ “
Some brands and retailers have gotten better at catering to plus-size customers, but the evolution remains slow-going. Fortunately for the 33-year-old queer actor, a real sartorial standout with a string of buzzy 2023 red carpet looks, he’s now courting the attention of major labels, though not all of them are able to deliver. “They love him and want to work with him, but they are working with limited sample sizes and limited resources,...

First must come the consumer warning. I read this digitally, which means flipping through the pages would have been more cumbersome than with a physical book, and I took the “152 pages” as an indication of the length of the story.
Reader, I was misled.
Only the End of the World Again is a 48-page story, bulked out by an sketchbook section exactly twice its size that shows the thumbnail layouts and un-lettered final inks for each page side-by-side, presumably for fans of art to take a magnifying glass to them and make various low appreciative noises in the back of their throats for the next several hours. I did not do so; that’s not how I read books.
If you do want to spend several hours with those earlier versions of the same story, though, this may well be a positive for you. It takes all kinds to make a world,...

Creed III has a knockout soundtrack with songs to keep the blood pumping and the heart soaring in the Rocky spin-off. The ninth installment in the Rocky franchise finds the Italian Stallion's protégé Adonis Creed (director and star Michael B. Jordan) facing the opponent of his career in Damian "Diamond Dame" Anderson. Dame reenters Donnie's life just as it's reached the top, a childhood friend with a chip on his shoulder over serving prison time for an altercation the former World Heavyweight Champ actually started, and composer Joseph Shirley amplifies the emotional current that undercuts their bouts with a moving score.
The Creed III soundtrack is produced by J. Cole's Dreamville Records, known for utilizing strong underground artists, and features Morray, Headhunters, Ari Lennox, and J. Cole's re-imagining of a classic Dr. Dre song. And since no movie in the Creed or Rocky franchise would be complete without epic walkout songs,...

Tiffany Darwish, a pop star popular in the ’80s, got into an accident last week while driving her car on Interstate 65 in Nashville, Tennessee.
While driving on the interstate a truck driving near her lost its tire, and it hit her car with her inside it. The tire ended up getting caught under the side of the car she was driving.
Darwish was not injured in the accident, but her car is severally damaged, including a part of the vehicle being ripped off, multiple dents and a torn transmission. She did not comment on whether she got medical attention after the accident.
She did post an update on her Instagram feed Thursday with a picture of the sky and clouds forming a heart.

Martin Scorsese already has a few ideas for his next project lined up — he could direct a Grateful Dead biopic with Jonah Hill or re-team with Leonardo DiCaprio on another David Grann adaptation. But it sounds like the 80-year-old director might be setting his sights on another film about one of his favorite subjects: religion.
The auteur followed his trip to Cannes — where “Killers of the Flower Moon” premiered out of competition to rapturous reviews — with a tour of Italy, where he is hosting screenings of several of his films and conducting a master class for students at the Centro Sperimentale film school.
He also found time to visit the Vatican for a conference titled “The Global Aesthetics of the Catholic Imagination,” which saw prominent Catholic artists from around the world discussing ways to explore faith in their work. Variety reports that Scorsese also had a private audience with Pope Francis...

Writer Stefani Robinson is an admitted overachiever. In 2016, on the strength of a spec script, “Lola and the Afterlife,” about the ghost of dead girl stuck in limbo in Boston, she landed a meeting with Donald Glover on FX series “Atlanta” and was promptly hired for the Season 1 writer’s room. The day before she turned up for work, she had been grabbing coffee as an agent’s assistant.
She was the youngest member and only woman in the writers room, joining a team who already knew each other. But it was Robinson who landed a writing Emmy nomination for Season 1; the show took home two WGA awards. While she continued on “Atlanta” until the 2022 Season 4 finale, executive producer Paul Simms also took her with him to co-showrun 2019 TV series “What We Do in the Shadows,” based on the quirky vampire film by Jermaine Clement and Taika Waititi.

Keanu Reeves and girlfriend Alexandra Grant are offering a rare look into their romance. Attending the Museum of Chinese America's gala on April 15, the couple appeared blissful on the red carpet as they held hands and shared a kiss for photos. Reeves looked sleek in a navy suit and striped tie to match Grant's red gown covered in florals.
Though the two are quite private about their romance, Reeves recently spoke about his relationship with the artist in an interview with People. When asked about his "last moment of bliss" in March, he said: "A couple of days ago with my honey. We were in bed. We were connected. We were smiling and laughing and giggling. Feeling great. It was just really nice to be together."
