Forgery and the use of forgeries.
dbdumonteil20 November 2012
Based on a Sacha Guitry's screenplay, but made after his death, this gentle comedy cannot compare with the master's works, particularly his latter days' masterpiece "Assassins Et Voleurs".

It's occasionally funny ,but it lacks the bite of the writer. The plot revolves around a diamond called "Le Nabab" (=the Tycoon)-real or fake, nobody knows, cause there are two stones, and the viewer never really knows who 's got what;and even for the last picture ,I have my doubts .A pseudo-prince,a pseudo-count ,false love between the young lovers ;everything seems phoney from the marble floor of the luxury hotels to the politeness of the characters .
