Tom Holland is having quite a moment on the VOD charts right now. “Uncharted” (19.99) leads at Vudu and iTunes, while the actor’s other blockbuster, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” is #1 at Google Play. Sony’s dominance of this week’s PVOD charts, with newly released “Uncharted” and long running “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (5.99) splitting the #1 spots on the three charts we follow, reinforces two narratives.
First, not having an in-house streaming service need not deprive a studio from reaping strong at-home revenues. Second, and critical for theaters as they recover, is that a long window is no hindrance to reaping the benefits of initial high return PVOD prices.
Contrast that with “The Batman” (Warner Bros./24.99). After two full weeks out on PVOD and on HBO Max (free there for subscribers), along with an HBO cable showing, the biggest 2022 grossing film fell to #3 at Vudu, and #6 at both iTunes and Google Play.

2008’s Rambo said everything it needed to about its titular character. Writer, director, and star Sylvester Stallone gave the character closure, just as he did for Rocky Balboa with 2006’s Rocky Balboa. Nevertheless, the Creed star has expressed interest over the years in making another sequel, possibly called Last Blood Rambo. But apparently he’s had a change of heart. Learn why Stallone will […]

Sylvester Stallone will not be battling Isis in the next Rambo sequel, despite inaccurate reports circulating the Internet. Rumors began to swirl Monday morning that the veteran actor-filmmaker would reprise his legendary role as war veteran John Rambo in a new film called Rambo: Last Blood. However, a representative for Stallone denied those claims to Rolling Stone, noting that the actor was not even at the event. "Sylvester Stallone did not attend Comic-Con 2015, and consequently there was no official remark from him regarding Rambo made there at the event," the rep says.

After years of will-he-won't-he development stories, Sylvester Stallone has kicked off 2015 with the announcement that he will shortly be revisiting 'Nam-vet one-man-army John Rambo. Taking to the Twitters, he revealed that the fifth Rambo movie will almost certainly also be the final one, since he's confirmed its title as Last Blood. We've been here several times before, since the bluntly-titled fourth Rambo in 2008. The fifth film was originally touted as a south-of-the-border cartel kidnap thriller. Then it went weirdly sci-fi, then back to its original form. And then it became nothing. "The character came full circle [in the fourth film]; he went home," Sly told us in 2010. "For Rambo to go on another adventure might be misinterpreted as a mercenary gesture and not necessary."Then in 2011 came the news that Conan The Barbarian writer Sean Hood had turned in a screenplay called The Last Stand, which Hood described as a small-town thriller in the vein of First Blood,...

New Rocky and Rambo films kick off Sylvester Stallone's 2015 shooting schedule...
Sylvester Stallone is set to be a very busy man in 2015, with a trio of new projects set to film.
Stallone has confirmed on his occasionally-updated Twitter feed that he's heading off to Philadelphia to reprise the role of Rocky Balboa in spin-off movie Creed. That's the one where Michael B Jordan will be playing the grandson of Apollo Creed (who was, of course, played by Carl Weathers in the Rocky films). Rocky Balboa will become the new Creed's trainer in the film.
Then, he's making Last Blood, which is expected to be the final film in the Rambo series. No further details are available on that one yet. It's still unclear, therefore, whether Stallone will be directing Rambo: Last Blood as well.
Finally - at least for now - he's then going to move on to Scarpa,...

Rumours swirled around a few months ago that John Rambo would be once again dismembering an army of faceless goon in delightfully brutal fashion in Rambo: Last Blood. Well, Sylvester Stallone has confirmed on Twitter that Last Blood will indeed be the title (though the actor has called it his No Country for Old Men), and while nothing is known of the plot, it will begin production after Creed, Ryan Coogler's (Fruitvale Station) Rocky spin-off following Apollo Creed's grand son Adonis (Michael B. Jordan), and featuring Stallone reprising his role of The Italian Stallion. With those two movies wrapped, Stallone will then begin work on Scarpa, based on the life of former mob enforcer Gregory Scarpa.

This past summer, we learned that Sylvester Stallone may be returning to one of his iconic characters as John Rambo in what would be the fifth installment in the action franchise. Now that's been confirmed as Stallone took to Twitter to mention that he's heading to Philadelphia to start shooting the Rocky spin-off Creed, in which he'll star with Michael B. Jordan. And then afterwards, he mentioned that he has a gangster movie coming up called Scarpa, based on real-life mobster Greg Scarpa, but before that he'll shoot Rambo: Last Blood. So yes, that's the real title of what will likely end Stallone's run of this character. Read on! Here are the posts from Sylvester Stallone on Twitter about what he's up to now: Going to Philly to start the film Creed.... If you're wondering what's going on with Sylvester Stallone's fifth Rambo movie, you might be happy to know that he still plans on making it. A few months ago it was revealed that the film would be called Rambo: Last Blood, and that he might be directing it. In a couple of recent tweets talking about his upcoming projects, the actor said,
"Going to Philly to start the film Creed.... What a great idea""Doing Scarpa based on Gangster Greg Scarpa after Last Blood Rambo..."
I don't know if this means the title of the film will actually Last Blood: Rambo, but it does confirm that Last Blood is the sub-title for the movie. Sly is going to keep busy in 2015.
On Sylvester Stallone’s Twitter page, he tweeted his upcoming projects next year with the Rocky spin-off film “Creed,” and then “Rambo: Last Blood.” And then to wrap things up in “Scarpa,” a film based on the real life Greg Scarpa.
With “Creed,” this spin-off to the “Rocky” films will follow Apollo Creed’s grandson with Rocky training him to be a boxer. Apollo Creed, played by Carl Weathers, boxed Rocky in “Rocky” and “Rocky II.” In “Rocky III,” Apollo trained Rocky to fight a younger James “Clubber” Lang. So the new film sounds like Rocky is returning the favor.
He announced the completion with the script with a tweet. See the photo below, but don’t flip and zoom in if you want to spoil the ending to “Creed” for yourself.

As one of the reigning action heroes of the 70s and 80s that’s still going strong, Sylvester Stallone has proven time and time again that age ain’t nothing but a number. If you thought he’d be cashing in his chips after The Expendables 3 turned out to be a dud (its regrettable PG-13 rating being something that Stallone himself wasn’t happy with), think again.

Sylvester Stallone wrapped up The Expendables (we think) and now has his sights set on returning his more reliable characters. First up is the Rocky spin-off Creed, which will focus on the grandson (Michael B. Jordan) of Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) being mentored by Rocky Balboa (Stallone). It’s from Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogle, so it’s an interesting jump from the streets to the ring. Will it feel like a Rocky movie? I hope not. I loved Rocky Balboa and thought it ended the series perfectly; if this is happening, it should be all about Creed.

Sylvester Stallone has offered brief updates on his upcoming film projects via his Twitter account this week, in the process dropping one or two surprises.
Stallone confirms he's next headed to Philadelphia to start shooting the "Rocky" spin-off feature "Creed". He also posted what appears to be the last page of the film's script in a photo, a shot which gives away both the ending and a key subplot that comes up through the film. Perhaps the biggest news though is that the reported fifth and final film in the "Rambo" series seems to have a proper full title - "Last Blood: Rambo". There's no indication when it would begin filming, but it does look like it will be shot before Stallone goes to...

Apparently Sylvester Stallone.s mantra is "never let die." After resurrecting Barney Ross for The Expendables 3 and with plans to do the same for Rocky Balboa in the upcoming spinoff, Creed, the action movie mainstay is ready for another Rambo entry. Action icon Sylvester Stallone has announced that he will write, direct and star in Rambo: Last Blood. Also, Michael B. Jordan says that the latest Rocky sequel Creed is “Definitely happening”.
When it comes to Sylvester Stallone, never count a franchise as dead. Despite the success of his latest film series, the Expendables (although the returns are diminishing), he is bringing back his two most iconic characters: Rocky and Rambo.
Stallone told ComingSoon that John Rambo will fight again in Rambo: Last Blood. Despite wrapping up the character in Rambo (2008) and the fact that the character, like the actor, is advancing in age, the Vietnam veteran will be back in action one more time. Stallone is giving away no plot details, but he hints that this will be the No Country for Old Men of Rambo films. Another question is how this affects the proposed Rambo TV series.

Sylvester Stallone is going for blood. He's set to star and direct in the fifth Rambo sequel, which will bear the title, Rambo: Last Blood. The movie will begin shooting next month.
The first Rambo film was released in 1982, starring Stallone in the titular role. The last time the actor played the character of John Rambo was in 2008's Rambo, which he also directed. The film earned $113.2 million.
Though there were previous rumors that suggested Stallone was planning to adapt James Byron Huggins' novel Hunter and turn it into a Rambo sequel, that's no longer the case. Stallone still holds the rights to that novel, but he plans to use the book's plot for a different film. Thus, the plot for the fifth Rambo sequel remains under wraps.
Avi Lerner, who has worked repeatedly with Stallone, will produce Last Blood for Millennium Films.

Rambo 5 is now Rambo: Last Blood. And Sylvester Stallone is set to direct...
Just yesterday, we reported the news (first broken by Film Divider) that shooting was set to start on the fifth and presumably final Rambo movie at the end of next month. Sylvester Stallone is taking on the role of John Rambo once more, and the production is set to last until early next year.
We now learn that the film has a title and director, too.
So then: Rambo 5 will now be called Rambo: Last Blood, and the man calling the shots behind the camera will be Sylvester Stallone. Stallone last directed the first The Expendables movie in 2010, and he also helmed the fourth Rambo film prior to that.
The film may be ready for release by the end of 2015. Don't be surprised if it turns up in 2016 though.
Coming Soon.

About a month ago, Sylvester Stallone revealed that he's currently working on a fifth "Rambo" movie. He didn't go into any detail, but said that he already started getting in shape and to expect Rambo to be "vicious, but intellectual." Now comes word that the name of "Rambo 5" is "Rambo: Last Blood," which Stallone plans to direct. The title is an obvious reference to the first installment in the franchise, which was called "Rambo: First Blood." There have been rumors that "Rambo 5" will be a sci-fi film, but it was then reported that it will be more like "No Country or Old Men," featuring Rambo facing off against a Mexican drug cartel.

That’s right, John Rambo has not called it a day. He isn’t too old for this shit. Rambo 5 is alive and kicking. The next entry – and I say next because despite the title, it very well might not be the last – could already have a name. According to a hot tip delivered by Coming Soon reader ‘nopr100′ – the moniker will apparently be Rambo: Last Blood.

2008's Rambo was a pretty definite send-off to one man war machine John Rambo, so a fifth installment in the franchise seems a bit redundant. But Rambo 5 does seem to on its way, with Splendid Films sending out a press release in June, stating "With Rambo V, Sylvester Stallone returns in his iconic role. This time he goes up against a Mexican cartel. Stallone describes the new Rambo as his No Country for Old Men", as well as dropping that he would be writing and directing as well. Rumours abound that production will be kicking off next month, and Coming Soon are reporting that they have what the title of the latest installment with Rambo: Last Blood (also the name of an online flash game). Bit too on the nose, isn't it? Do we really need a fifth Rambo movie? Okay, I asked myself a very similar question when Rambo was released,...

Back in June we heard whispers that Sylvester Stallone was prepping another installment of the Rambo franchise. And now a new rumor suggests the Rambo 5 title might be Rambo: Last Blood. That can’t be serious, can it? The rumor comes from ComingSoon where a reader named nopr100 send over the new intel. No other […]

We've been hearing about a fifth Rambo film for a few years now, and Sylvester Stallone is ready to jump in a get it made! Not only that but it looks like the movie has a title.
According to Comingsoon, the movie will be called Rambo: Last Blood, and Stallone is planning to direct it! The action franchise started with the title Rambo: First Blood so it's only appropriate to end it with Last Blood. There's no official confirmation of this, but it's not that hard to believe.
The 2008 film John Rambo turned out awesome, and I'm actually kind of thrilled that we are getting one last movie. Back in 2009 a synopsis was released for a fifth movie called Rambo: The Savage Hunt that would have basically been an adaptation of a book called Hunter. You can read more about that here. It's been awhile since that...

Never say "die" when it comes to Sylvester Stallone and his signature film franchises. The dreadful Rocky V led to a more definitive conclusion, Rocky Balboa. The Expendables series appears like it could extend indefinitely (despite diminishing returns at the box office). And now Stallone seems ready to reprise his John Rambo character, even though that hero got a proper sendoff in 2008.s Rambo ComingSoon now reports that Sylvester Stallone will direct and star in Rambo: Last Blood. They refer to it as "one last fight," though we all know that.s likely not true. What.s unclear is the possible plot of this final Rambo movie. There were rumors, a while back, that the next Rambo movie could see thi bloodthirsty war veteran going after a Mexican cartel, though why remains the biggest mystery. Or even if that story remains in play. At the time, Stallone was calling...

The Mega Man baddie gets his own custom version of operation thanks to one dedicated fan.
Fan Kodykoala modded the classic board game Operation to feature this good robot gone bad in what would likely be a Dr. Wily-approved endeavor. This custom game is actually made from an Iron Man Operation board and a Jazwares Guts Man figure. In the original Mega Man, he was a construction robot built by Dr. Light and the strongest of all of the robots from that first game. One chip modification from madman/bad hair enthusiast Dr. Wily and "Hello villain."

Troubled vet John Rambo confronts a lifetime of killing in this free Flash game.
Created by Peter Javidpour (@javidpower), The Last Blood is described on the game's YouTube page as "The spiritual successor to the Rambo series." And "spiritual" is precisely the way to describe the game, whose big twist in the opening moments I won't spoil here (it's quite funny, but there's more to it). While the subsequent game appears to be poking fun at the ultra-macho Rambo movies (and it is poking fun, but not too hard), there's some solid design here in this 8-bit send-up with a cute theme about reversing a lifetime of violence (or simply that hugs are nice, the jury's still out on that score).
You can check out the game at the Rambo: Last Blood page.

Director (Speed, Twister) and former cinematographer (Die Hard, Basic Instinct) Jan de Bont had been locked away in director jail for years now thanks to a string of very poopy films that included Speed 2: Cruise Control, The Haunting, and Tomb Raider: The Cradle Of Life. He's about to be let out though, and Deadline reports that his first film in about a decade will be a remake of the Johnny Cash-starring 1961 drama Five Minutes To Live. The film, to be written by TV movie and Dtv scribe...

Though Johnny Cash is usually more likely to be found on a film's soundtrack than up onscreen, he did notch up a few credits before deciding that music was the world that better suited him. One of his better-known roles was as crazed criminal Johnny Cabot in 1961's Five Minutes To Live, and now someone else will be taking it on as Jan de Bont has been hired to remake the movie.De Bont hasn’t stepped behind the camera since 2003’s less-than-successful action sequel Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle Of Life, and while he’s had a few possible projects pop up here and there, we were starting to wonder whether he might be spending the rest of his career in director jail. But producers Joseph and Jack Nasser have now decided he’s the man to make the new version of Five Minutes, for which Transparency’s...

Sundance is not only the place to see some of the hottest movies; it's also a place where deals are made. Deadline reports that Joseph and Jack Nasser have teamed with Jan De Bont (Speed) to direct a remake of Five Minutes to Live, based on the 1961 Johnny Cash film. Casting is set to get underway immediately.
Raul Inglis (Transparency) penned the story that follows "two men as they execute a terrifying bank robbery. One guys holds the bank manager’s wife hostage and the other tells the manager she’ll be killed in five minutes unless he transfers money to an account of their choosing." Man, what's happened to Jan Du Bont? Speed was great, Twister was fun (if only for the flying cow), and as for The Haunting ... well ... What Do You Think This Is?!?! Some Type Of Game?!? Hopefully with his latest flick he can rebound.
According to Deadline, as producers Joseph and Jack Nasser prepare to unveil the Sundance film For a Good Time, Call..., they’ve made a deal to team with Jan De Bont on Five Minutes to Live, also known as Door-to-Door Maniac, a film that De Bont will direct based on the 1961 Johnny Cash film.

Director Jan de Bont hasn't made a film since the 2001 video game sequel Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, but it sounds like the filmmaker is going to return to the adrenaline fueled action flicks like Speed and Twister that launched his career. Deadline has word that de Bont has just closed a deal to direct a remake of Five Minutes to Live, a 1961 heist film that originally starred Johnny Cash. The film follows two men robbing a bank as one holds the bank manager's wife hostage and the other tells the manager that she will be killed in five minutes unless he transfers money to an account of their choosing. Sounds pretty intense. It sounds like this has the potential to be pretty dark as the logline, at least on IMDb, says the film follows a gang of bank robbers terrorizing a small town by knocking on doors...

If you didn’t know that the legendary Johnny Cash dabbled in acting while he was still alive, it’s okay — I wasn’t aware, either. All blatant ignorance aside, Deadline reports that Dutch filmmaker Jan de Bont will direct a remake of Cash‘s 1961 film Five Minutes to Live.
Both the original and this remake are based on a story by Palmer Thompson; the new film, written by Raul Inglis (Transparency), centers on “two men as they execute a terrifying bank robbery. One guys holds the bank manager’s wife hostage and the other tells the manager she’ll be killed in five minutes unless he transfers money to an account of their choosing.” The Cash-starrer was also director Bill Karn‘s final film. No one has yet been found to replace the beloved musician, but casting will soon begin, under financiers Nasser Entertainment and Nasser Group North.

Jan De Bont had a moment in the sun in the mid '90s when he directed Speed and Twister, and it should never be forgotten that he was a kick-ass cinematographer. You might have seen his work in a minor film called Die Hard. But De Bont last directed Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, released in 2001. Though a few different projects have seemed like possible new films for the director in the years since, nothing has taken that final step of delivering a cake with a concealed metal file so that De Bont could break himself out of director jail. Now producers Joseph and Jack Nasser, who have a film named For a Good Time, Call... premiering at Sundance, are evidently ready to toss that big ring of cell keys to De Bont. They've signed him to direct Five Minutes to Live, which will be a remake...

One of the stranger turns in his entertainment career, Johnny Cash starred in the 1961 crime thriller Five Minutes to Live, playing a criminal named Johnny Cabot involved in a kidnapping and bank robbery. Deadline now reports that the project is planned for a remake with Jan De Bont directing.
Re-released in 1966 under the title Door-to-Door Maniac, the film still featured Cash's opening credits song, also called "Five Minutes to Live". The plot saw his character teaming with another criminal, Fred (played by Vic Tayback) to pull a two-sided heist. Fred will hold up a bank while Johnny takes the wife of the bank's vice president hostage in her own home, ensuring that the robbery goes smootly.

To be honest I’m surprised someone didn’t come up with sooner. Deadline reports that Simon Hunter has been signed to direct Last Blood, an adaptation of a graphic novel released by Keenspot. Last Blood takes place after a zombie apocalypse in which the walking dead has overrun humans and are slowly hunting them into extinction. This doesn’t bode well for the vampire population, who need the human blood to survive, so they decide to mount an offensive against the undead threat.
Hunter is perhaps best known for the 2009 low budget sci-fi movie Mutant Chronicles starring Thomas Jane. And if you know him from that, you are probably nervous that his new project will turn out just as bad. The movie’s production is being handled by a company called Benderspink, who obtained the rights back in 2008.

Mutant Chronicles director Simon Hunter has been hired to direct a live-action adaptation of the vampire graphic novel Last Blood.
The graphic novel was created by Chris and Bobby Cosby, and the story takes place “after a zombie apocalypse, when vampires must battle to protect the last surviving humans to keep alive the necessary blood supply.”
That plot sounds a lot like the Ethan Hawk vampire film Daybreakers, but with a zombie apocalypse. I’ve become very skeptical of vampire movies like this because these days they rarely turn out good, but I’m still willing to give this a chance because you never know, it could actually turn out being a really good movie.
I'm still not sure about director Simon Hunter, Mutant Chronicles ended up not being as good as I was hoping. Do you think this will end up turning out to be a good movie?
