The director -now completely forgotten- was anxious to sound "new wave " -so,Jean Claude Brialy's presence, and a crude dialogue ,with sex galore-,but also not to alienate himself the "old" audience (a real story,Michèle Morgan's presence").He fails twice, using hackneyed mother/daughter relationship, poor detective screenplay and flashbacks just because it's trendy.Remo Forlani's script is abysmal and could have provided material for a photo romance .Everything happens in a chic and distinguished milieu, but actually nothing happens. The conclusion was certainly intended to be cynical, but it really hits rock bottom. The two leads are very talented actors, but elsewhere.
