- [Sgt Lock is working undercover in a furniture shop to keep an eye on George Mallon who is suspicious when he sees her talking to Sgt Tracey]
- Sgt. June Lock: What's so special about you?
- George Mallon: He came here to warn you that I'm an ex-con, didn't he? Well he can save his breath because the manager already knows.
- [Sgt Lock does not react to this]
- George Mallon: Didn't you hear me? I said I was an ex-con.
- Sgt. June Lock: Well, what about it? Am I expected to fall over with admiration or something?
- [Mallon is shown into the prison governor's office, in preparation for his release]
- Governor: Sit down, Mallon.
- [Mallon continues to stand to attention alongside the governor's desk]
- Governor: [firmly] I said you can sit down.
- George Mallon: [insolently] I'm sorry, sir. I don't realise that was an order.
