Spanish-Argentine co-production set in Torremolinos and mixing humor and a little bit of drama
ma-cortes13 July 2022
Funny and fun Spanish comedy with a top-notch cast formed by the biggest hilarious actors from the sixties, such as José Luis López Vazquez , Alfredo Landa and Manolo Gómez Bur . Torremolinos is a seaside resort in Andalusia where Spanish people and foreigners on vacation meet themselves, resulting in agreeable romances . Among them are Paco Lafuente (José Luis López Vázquez), an Iberia worker, who gets Ingrid (Erika Wallner), a beautiful foreigner , a "Sueca" (Swedish) , to travel to Torremolinos after missing her plane . Shortly after, Paco himself will leave Madrid to go to the town of Torremolinos , Málaga , and meet her in a hotel . Along with Rafa (Alfredo Landa) , a hotel waiter who pleases mature female vacationers ; a womanizer Patricio Ruiz (Manolo Gómez Bur) who attempts flirts with the foreign girls , an Englishman named Van Criep (Alfonso Paso) , who is really lonely and boozer while wishing find love ; Marianne (Laura Valenzuela) and Marcel Leroix (Pastor Serrador) , a French couple on holiday and Sofia , their child's baby-sitter . An enjoyable love story brings Paco and Ingrid together but after a while romantic complications occuring here and there .

Typical Spanish comedy with a choral casting in a rather slight holiday story about the tourist boom in the 60s Spanish period , also dealing with issues of prejudice-social complexes and other addictions . It is a passable and acceptable picture but lacks sparkle , mayhem and madness of the other Spanish comedies . Highlights , above all, a great plethora of notorious actors and with a so-so script by José Luis Dibildos ("Spanish Women In Paris", "The New Spaniards") and Alfonso Paso ("Those Who Play The Piano", "The Underdeveloped") who also plays an attractive role . Amor-a-la-espanola (1967) contains comedic and dramatic aspects and including pop song by Los Flames and drawings in the credits by Antonio Mingote . Nice performances from José Luis López Vázquez as an employee of the Iberia airline company , he gets a serious/comical role in his romance with Erika Wallner who steals the show as the charming , gorgeous Swedish tourist Ingrid, while Alfonso Paso playing an alcoholic character, and Alfredo Landa tries to wriggle out of his mature admirers as a gigolo waiter , adding other fine players as Manolo Gómez Bur , Elena María Tejeiro , Margot Cottens , Pastor Serrador , Laura Valenzuela , Sara Guasch , Fernando Nogueras , José Luis Coll and brief appearance by Alvaro de Luna.

Produced by prolific producer Jose Luis Dibildos from Agata films, he usually cast his wife Laura Valenzuela. Including agreeable score by musician Isidro B. Maiztegui and the atmospheric , sunny cinematography by Aurelio G. Larraya . Graceful and laughing screenplay by the successful author Alfonso Paso and Jose Luis Dibildos himself. The motion picture was regularly directed by Fernando Merino and shot in fits and starts. Merino was a craftsman and professional director who achieved hits and flops. He is brother to also filmmaker Jose Luis Merino. And director assistant, as he assisted films as ¨Tulipan negro¨, ¨Fra Diavolo¨, ¨Madame Sans Gene¨, ¨Los tramposos¨, ¨Armas para el Caribe¨, ¨La venganza de Don Mendo¨.
