Carelessly made porn

With the recent ending of Harry Novak's licensing deal with Something Weird, FREE LOVE CONFIDENTIAL is officially out of print. No loss, since this tiresome programmer has little to offer.

It's a boring tale of two bored housewives, the unattractive Karen Miller and Yvette Corday. (Casting is of prime importance in filmmaking, especially porn, and they flunked out here.) They answer an ad from the L.A. free press and visit a photographer, snapping photos of them. The trio have an impromptu orgy, and the photographer gives them the roll of film containing candid sex shots.

But lo & behold, when they get home it turns out to be a blank roll of film -what's to become of the negatives of incriminating sex footage? The duo revisits his home and are met by a whip-wielding lesbian Mickey who torments them and then demands $500 or else the photos will appear in men's magazines all over the country.

Not much material for a movie, which is aimed merely for adult theaters to show t&a and some simulated sex. Film climaxes with a dull orgy sequence at a night club, which I have seen excerpted as a stand-alone short film. It's all filler anyway.

The cutesy ending where the women learn to be more careful is truly asinine, typical of a film where pseudonyms abound. Cinematographer Manuel S. Conde didn't mind signing his moniker, as he had no reputation for quality to besmirch.
