A Classic story that would be wonderful on the BIG screen

My Goodness!! Is it really 38 years since I saw this? Being both a car buff and a Stirling Moss fan I remember watching this with interest, the producers had managed to obtain a Mercedes 300SLR (although I suspect not the original). But the script (by Athol Fugard, no less)chose, cleverly to concentrate on the building of a relationship between the superbly analytical Moss, at the time the finest driver in Formula 1 and his navigator Dennis Jenkinson, a journalist whose cerebral approach (pace notes on a 15 feet long roll of paper!!)gave Moss the edge. The performances were faultless and showed clearly Moss' trust in Jenkinson's hand signals for approaching bends ( at 170 mph !!!). An interesting story of men at the peak of their respective careers it deserves to be remade for the big screen / just think what CGI work could do to recreate the 1955 Mille Miglia !! Strongly recommended (if you could find it)
