NOTES
25th anniversary edition. Sides 3 & 4 are CAV. On some scenes the image freezes for a few frames. This is a problem with the source material. While Elite found the best available source material for the image of its transfer, the source had sustained some damage and had lost some frames. Meanwhile, source material of lesser image quality but with a cleaner and intact sound track had also been found. To "marry" the two, and maintain sound synchronization, the folks at Elite had to freeze the frame either before or after the missing frames to compensate for the lost portions of the image track. Although this yields occasional image freezing which may be noticed by the discerning eye, it's a less intrusive method than the alternative: cutting the soundtrack up to compensate for the lost frames.
