Italian Sex Comedy with Lando BUZZANCA, Barbara BOUCHET and Anita EKBERG
ZeddaZogenau2 March 2024
Lando BUZZANCA (1935-2022) and marital duties! At the beginning of the 1970s, moral standards relaxed throughout the Western world in the wake of the '68 movement. There were now more and more sex comedies in the cinema that dealt with these new freedoms. In Italy, the actor Lando BUZZANCA became one of the most important actors in such films.

In the film by Francesco PROSPERI, who a few years later would make the crime film PRONTO AD UCCIDERE (1976) with Elke SOMMER and Ray LOVELOCK, BUZZANCA plays the drifter Orazio, who accidentally meets his old friend Romolo (Orazio ORLANDO) while stealing gasoline. He is married to the rich Ines (Anita EKBERG) and works in her small gas station. Unsatisfied with the tedious duties of married life, Romolo is persuaded by Orazio to lead a kind of hippie life with him, traveling through the Italian countryside. Said and done! The two men experience many adventures together along the way. For example, they meet the beautiful hippie girl Candida (Barbara BOUCHET) on her escape from the world. But then an unfortunate event occurs that will fundamentally change the lives of everyone involved...

The film was shot primarily in the Italian region of Apulia. Despite the well-known cast, this mixture of sex comedy and road movie is not particularly original. Even the Swedish actress Anita EKBERG (1931-2015), who was awarded a GOLDEN GLOBE as a debutante in 1956, remains all too pale in her role as an unloved wife.

No sense movie

Warning: Spoilers
This movie has some funny moments with very subtle lines but for the most part the plot makes little sense and I don't know where it is headed.

The epilogue of all these events is that the married man leaves his wife to live a free life while the man in the street who lived day by day remains at the abandoned woman's house.
