Violence & Gore

  • A cat is thrown down a stairwell from a very high height, but nothing is shown.
  • A cat is found dead and thrown into a ditch.
  • There are multiple occasions where children brawl, but other than getting dirty, there is never any blood or any real damage.
  • The main character is sent to his room as a punishment and kicks out the bottom part of the door in anger. An adult tries to subdue him by slapping his face with a rag.
  • The main character is constantly stealing throughout the movie.
  • Railroad spikes and ballast are stolen by a group of children which they then use to throw at cars from off of a bridge. One car is hit and crashes into a wall. Nobody was injured.

  • There are a few scenes of minors smoking throughout the movie.
  • In one scene, a minor drinks directly from a bottle of alcohol.
  • While eating dinner, a minor pours a glass of alcohol, but doesn't consume it.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The life of abandoned/orphaned children can be depressing or overwhelming to some viewers. One child is seen being adopted by a woman and screams and cries because he doesn't want to leave. Other children are shown under temporary care at a social services department.
  • A teenager is seen carving a tattoo into his arm with a knife. Some blood is visible.
  • A knife is thrown unexpectedly right next to someones face.
  • An elderly lady is shown (gently) dying in her sleep. This causes major grievances for the relatives and those who know her.
