The Val Doonican you know is back - the relaxed song, the bit of blarney, the casual sweater and, of course, the rocking chair. It's Doonican in the old country, with film shot in Ireland - but starring with some of the biggest names from across the Atlantic: tonight, it's Burl Ives. But it's also a comedy show with three regulars - zany Bernard Cribbins, Sheila Staefel and Bob Todd. They're all backed by the Mike Sammes singers, Jack Parnell's orchestra and The Norman Maen dancers.
