Intriguing British Mystery

Warning: Spoilers
In 1970's England, government scientist David Foster (Burton) begins to encounter peculiar events. He learns he has apparently done things he has no memory of. When his wife dies unexpectedly, he is emotionally crushed. What Foster does not know is that he is the target of a secret Soviet plot to infiltrate the British defense organization where he works. Altered physically to resemble Foster, a Russian agent has been trained to take his place. The final phase of the Soviet operation is to substitute the agent for Foster. But David Foster, after doubting his own sanity, begins to sense that there's someone else that looks just like him and that for some reason wants to do him harm. He must hunt down that man and find out what's going on before the Soviet spies kill him. On a trip to the continent a chance meeting makes him share a ride with an attractive woman who befriends him and may help him, or may be someone out to kill him.
