- An American returns to his native Dutch village in the 1930s and causes a sensation there. When his pregnant daughter starts an affair with the son of the local cheese-factory owner, the conservative village starts to despise the free-loving hippie damsel.—Chris Abbenhuis <keller@telebyte.nl>
- During the 1920s, a rich American named Ben returns to the place where he was born, a small village in the northern Netherlands. With him travels his pregnant stepdaughter Angela. Once arrived in the village Ben meets his old love, who is now married. They start a rather sneaky, relation because it seems that Ben and Angela are also having an affair. At the same time the son of Ben's mistress, Harm Wouter Dijkstra, returns from the University where he failed his first year. Because of Angela's openhearted behavior, rumors spread around the village. After she is sexually assaulted by a farmer, Harm and Angela decide to leave the narrow-mindedness of the village and its inhabitants. During their quest they are constantly followed by the villagers. Finally, they are captured and beaten to death.—<G.J.JANSEN@MED.RUG.NL>
