- Rookie Bob: This is car nineteen! Do you hear me, Clyde?
- Clyde: [over speaker] Ten-four.
- Rookie Bob: I think it's them! It's a boy and a girl and they're in an orange buggy. They're heading across open country towards county park. I'm going to check them out.
- Clyde: Roger, nineteen, I'll get some assistance out there, right away.
- Rookie Bob: Damn it, Clyde, I don't need any assistance! This is my big chance to show 'ol Beer Gut what I can really do!
- Sheriff C.W. Thurston: This IS Beer Gut! You already got help, sonny boy! Now, if you foul up and lose them, it's your badge!
- Rookie Bob: Yes, sir.
- Sheriff C.W. Thurston: I'll block them off at Sycamore Road. There ain't no way they can get out.
- Rookie Bob: Yes, sir.
- [to himself]
- Rookie Bob: I've been on this police force for almost a year and they still treat me like I was a rookie. I'll show them. I'm gonna catch that son of a bitch.
- Sheriff C.W. Thurston: [to himself, disgusted at the ineptness of his deputies] Damn numbskull police force I've got.
- Rookie Bob: [stops a female driver at a roadblock] Yes, ma'am, we're just having a little problem here, this morning, a little check and I'd like to see your driver's license, please.
- Female Driver: What have I done?
- Rookie Bob: Oh, nothing, ma'am, but just routine.
- Female Driver: [shows it from her bag] Here.
- Rookie Bob: No, you'll have to take it out of there for me.
- Female Driver: You're making me so nervous I can't find it.
- [notices Flash and Firecat speeding down a dirt road in a dune buggy]
- Rookie Bob: I'll be damned, it's them!
- [he rushes towards his car]
- Female Driver: Thank god.
