• Erreurs faites par les personnages (éventuellement des erreurs délibérées par les cinéastes): Capt Holly (Charlton Heston) twice refers to the sniper's weapon as an "automatic rifle" (a rifle that continues to fire as long as the trigger is held back). But the weapon is actually a semi-automatic (in which only one shot is fired per trigger pull). A real policeman would not have made such a mistake in basic firearm nomenclature.
  
  
• Erreurs factuelles: While moving into their firing positions at the stadium, several SWAT members have their fingers on the triggers of their M16 rifles. This violates a basic rule of gun safety, which says that the finger must stay off the trigger until the sights are on the target. Until that time, the finger should be placed alongside the trigger guard.
  
  
• Erreurs faites par les personnages (éventuellement des erreurs délibérées par les cinéastes): After maintenance man Brock Peters is struck in the face by the assassin with a rifle butt and falls 60 feet to his death, Charlton Heston's character tells other policemen that Brock was "butt stroked" off the ladder. This is not correct military or police jargon. The only people who were "butt stroked" were poor Heston, who had to keep a straight face while he said it; poor Brock, who supposedly suffered the indignity; and the producers, who paid some expert to advise them and left the line in the movie.
