On a family trip to California, an ill-advised detour is taken off the main road on the pretext of looking at an abandoned silver mine the retired parents have inherited. The last civilized man they talk to before leaving the main road warns them - you don't want to leave the main road. They do, and a family of canibals living in the desert wastes attacks them all. Unprepared, survival is anything but certain.
