Remember my review of Snowpiercer?
Well, I do, and that’s all that matters, because I had a revelation recently about that comic-turned-movie. You see, at my place of employment, they’ve been showing holiday movies, as retail outlets are wont to do when they’re trying to sell TVs (even though it’s damn grocery store). And they’ve been showing a movie that, even as I try desperately to ignore it, has gradually transformed from a painfully-deformed specter of childish inanity to a foreboding, hideous larvae. This movie is, in fact, The Polar Express. Or, as it was originally called, Snowpiercer Part One! That’s right, I’m on to your games, Tom Hanks and Robert Zemeckis. You clearly read the then untranslated French graphic novel Snowpiercer about a seemingly unstoppable train howling across an alien wasteland of snow and ice and whose passengers represent humankind and decided...

It's not even Valentine's Day yet, but everyone should just stay home and order take-out because the best grand romantic gesture of all time has already happened. When Rob Micallef decided it was time to pop the question to girlfriend of four years Jessica Sammut, he enlisted the help of some very special (and very, very adorable) friends: 15 French bulldogs. People has all of the exclusive photos of what we'd describe as the best follow-up ever to October's pug proposal. Collaborating with the "A Frenchie in Brooklyn" Meetup group, Micallef planned his Saturday proposal around Frenchies because his now-fiancée is obsessed with the breed.

It’s 2014! Have you made your resolutions for the new year? Well good for you!
You’re doomed to failure, naturally, but by all means, commence your futile efforts. I will savor your anagnorisis in the same way an ophiocordyceps unilateralis organism relishes the very exquisite climax in which its spores burst forth from the parasitic structure growing inside of and possessing the host ant.
My New Year’s Resolution for 2014? I’m So glad you asked. I plan on executing more comics! Sure, I won’t make any friends with this resolution, but who needs friends when you’ve got the promise of countless tears shed in the name of my brutal and razor sharp critical analysises! Wait… is it analysi? Analysae? Now I’m just being anal.

New comic book Wednesday has come and gone. The dust at your local comic shop has settled. An eerie silence descends as you finish reading your last superhero book of the week. Now it's time for something a little more sinister. Welcome to Bagged and Boarded: comic reviews of the sick, spooky, twisted and terrifying! Grindhouse Doors Open at Midnight No. 3 The first two issues of this seedy movie theater-inspired series were all about sexy bee-women from mars. The third issue begins a new mini-story called Prison Ship Antares. It's about women in a spaceship bound for the only other earth-like planet nearby (and that's a twenty year ride). When the ship passes saturn and communication becomes limited the warden of the ship is finally able to unleash her evil plans. But will the tough-as-nails prisoners fight back? Bag it or board it up? This is an action-packed, highly sexualized comic about women in space.

Dark Horse Comics closed out the 2013 C2E2 by announcing five more upcoming projects that should be of interest to genre fans, in particular Witch Hunt, The Occultist, and Itty Bitty Hellboy.
Witch Hunt comes to us from Victor Gischler and Juan Ferreyra while The Occultist heralds the return of Tim Seeley. Itty Bitty Hellboy is by Eisner winners Art Baltazar and Franco Aureliani, and Donny Cates and Mark Reznicek's Buzzkill promises lots of boozin' and bruisin'. Last but not least, the more perverted among you should enjoy the hell out of Alex de Campi's Grindhouse: Doors Open at Midnight.
