Blue Bloods returns after a brief hiatus for the final four episodes of Season 14 Part One.
The final season of the hit CBS show has been divided into two parts, with the final eight episodes airing next fall.
Well, that is unless Blue Bloods fans get their wish and CBS renews the show at the last minute, just like with S.W.A.T.
CBS likely won’t decide about the fate of Blue Bloods until next year, but the good news is that the fans have been loud telling the network to “cancel the cancel.”
In the meantime, summer break is on the horizon, bringing the first part of Blue Bloods Season 14 to an end.
Let’s examine what we know about the remaining Blue Bloods Season 14 spring episodes.

T-minus two years for the release date of the upcoming Project Hail Mary. Amazon MGM Studios has finally set a date for the Ryan Gosling astronaut thriller. Deadline recently reported that the film, which is being directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, is preparing for launch on March 20, 2026. There are currently no other big titles scheduled for that weekend. Amy Pascal, Gosling, Lord, Miller, Aditya Sood, Rachel O’Connor and Andy Weir are all on board as producers of the film. Drew Goddard wrote the adapted screenplay based on the Andy Weir novel. Weir had also written the novel for The Martian, which served as source material for the Matt Damon film of the same name. Goddard is also set to executive produce with his Goddard Textiles partner Sarah Esberg, along with Ken Kao.
“The movie, filmed for Imax, is based on Weir’s (The Martian) novel and set in the near future.

Over three months after being convicted of reckless assault and harassment, Jonathan Majors was sentenced this morning by a New York judge to participate a domestic violence treatment program. The one-year “in person batterers” intervention program will be in LA, where Majors is based.
Present in Judge Michael Gaffey’s Manhattan courtroom Monday, Majors could have faced up to a year of jail time for his conviction on December 18 on two misdemeanor counts of reckless assault and harassment against Grace Jabbari. When Asha Daniels filed her illegal retaliatory termination, racial and sexual harassment lawsuit against Lizzo and her touring team in September, the Grammy winning singer responded by bashing the action by her former tour wardrobe designer as “a bogus, absurd publicity-stunt.” Now, the “Truth Hurts” singer and her Big Grrl Big Touring, Inc. wants a state judge to toss the matter out.
Staking their December 15-filed demurrer in LA Superior Court on Daniels having no right to utilize California laws while working for a Delaware corporation in Europe, the document from Marty Singer’s firm rips “Plaintiff, a New York resident” for her “meritless and salacious action after less than three weeks of employment by Bgbt” (bold and italics theirs).

Lizzo‘s legal team has filed a motion to dismiss a harassment and discrimination lawsuit made by a former “disgruntled” employee.
Back in September, the 35-year-old “Juice” singer was named in a lawsuit in a Los Angeles court by her former stylist and designer Asha Daniels, who accused Lizzo of creating “a sexualized, racially charged and illegal work environment.” She alleged that the singer doesn’t stop her management team from mistreating others who work under them.
Asha worked with Lizzo creating costumes for her dancers for her tour this year and alleged that she often worked 20-hour days without a break.
On Friday (December 15), Lizzo‘s attorney requested that the judge dismiss the lawsuit, claiming it was “meritless and salacious.”

“American Horror Story: Delicate” is off to a brutally bland start. We’re already three weeks into the series’ first attempt at a book adaptation for the FX horror show — a mainstay in seasonal television disappointments, now in its twelfth installment — and next to nothing has happened.
Set against contemporary Hollywood via Manhattan (and later the Hamptons), author Danielle Valentine’s “Delicate Condition” could have provided the basis for a decent limited series or possibly a movie. But AHS needed something meatier than a middling “Rosemary’s Baby” redux to keep the anthology’s rapidly diminishing legacy from swirling down the drain like hormone-riddled pee. And yet somehow, Ryan Murphy and co-creator Brad Falchuk have let a series that once had Frances Conroy cannibalizing a still-alive Adina Porter become excruciatingly boring.

Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer" just might be the biggest surprise of 2023, a tremendous box office success that tells the crowd-pleasing, four-quadrant story of ... J. Robert Oppenheimer's work on the atomic bomb.
In his review for /Film, Chris Evangelista called the film "a conflicting movie with an unknowable core. It's also one of the best movies of the year." Nolan's best movie, "Oppenheimer" unites virtually every white male actor in Hollywood for a film with endless talk about physics and math that still manages to be thrilling.
Nolan's crowning achievement is condensing the gargantuan 700-page biography "American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer" into a functional screenplay, but that meant cutting some things. This made the film a target for audiences disappointed that the film undermined the point of view of those who were wronged, attacked, harmed, and/or killed by Oppenheimer's work, like the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki,...

Speed is one of the more iconic action movies of the 90s. The movie was a huge success at the box office, grossing over $350 million worldwide and cementing Keanu Reeves as an action star. However, that success didn’t come easy. Speed was once set up at Paramount before the studio wound up passing on the project… but not before former Paramount VP of Production Don Granger pitched Speed as a Beverly Hills Cop sequel.
Don Granger made an appearance on the 50 Mph Podcast, where he revealed that Speed was considered as a Beverly Hills Cop sequel for all of fifteen minutes. “I really wanted to try to mount the movie, and my last-ditch effort was I pitched it at our chairman’s lunch as a possible script for Beverly Hills Cop 3,” Granger said. “I got about 15 minutes of traction before it was dismissed, because that was back when...

“I really wanted to try to mount the movie, and my last-ditch effort was … I pitched it at our chairman’s lunch as a possible script for ‘Beverly Hills Cop III,'” Granger said. “I got about 15 minutes of traction before it was dismissed, because that was back when the mandate was to find a ‘Beverly Hill Cop III.’ So I was like, ‘Let...

The saying “90 percent of directing is casting” has been attributed to everyone from John Ford to Robert Altman to Martin Scorsese, but in the case of Netflix’s much-buzzed-about romantic political drama “The Diplomat,” you might even be able to crank that number to 95, especially as casting director Julie Schubert tells it, getting your first-choice leads is the ultimate Hail Mary pass.
“Keri Russell was on the very first list,” says Schubert, who can barely contain her enthusiasm for the versatile actress. “She is truly one of the nicest human beings you will ever meet in your entire life. And one of the hardest working people you will ever meet in your entire life. She’s top to bottom: pure joy.”
As written, Ambassador Kate Wyler checks a lot of boxes for Russell’s abilities, but for the role of Kate’s roguish, charismatic, upward climbing husband-with-benefits Hal, there’s...

Phil Lord and Chris Miller have made their careers out of tackling "bad" ideas, as they pair would gladly -- and only half-jokingly -- tell you. Rebooting the '80s TV procedural curiosity "21 Jump Street" as an action-comedy movie? Turning the Lego toy brand into a genre-mixing, franchise-blending cinematic universe? Bringing together characters as tonally removed as Miles Morales, Spider-Man Noir, and Peter Porker for a superhero multiverse film that dabbles in experimental animation techniques? All ideas that could've easily gone terribly wrong and yet, under Lord and Miller's watch, they gave rise to hugely successful and even game-changing movies.
Every rule has at least one exception, though, and for Lord and Miller, it's "Solo: A Star Wars Story." The pair were notoriously several months into production on the Han Solo origin movie when they parted ways with Lucasfilm over creative differences ... or they were fired, it kind of...

Caroline Manzo said it’s not over until it’s over on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Many Rhonj fans believe that season 13 will be the last for Melissa Gorga. But Manzo said no one knows until the reunion airs.
“So much more can happen. It’s a fool’s game to suggest that at this point,” she said on the Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast.

Ever since her breakout role on the Hollywood insider comedy “Hacks,” comedian Meg Stalter has pretty much cornered the market on lovably annoying characters. She pretty handily steals the whole show as incompetent assistant from hell Kayla on the Emmy-winning HBO comedy, turning blasé clueless rich girl into an archetype, a lifestyle, and a personal brand. It was only a matter of time before some enterprising writers gave her a star vehicle of her own, and she proves herself just as funny as the main character in “Cora Bora.”
A conventional quirky comedy about a struggling musician trying to win her girlfriend back, “Cora Bora” follows a fairly predictable formula, right down to a kooky detour at an orgiastic poly commune. Stalter is a whirlwind and a universe unto herself, and the other players merely respond to whatever zaniness she throws down. Though reliably funny, her unique brand of uncomfortably...

Sometimes, the gap between new releases and current cinema can look quite wide. For this week’s column, I don’t have a hot take on “Cocaine Bear,” except to say that when movies like this drive so much hype, it sure makes everything else look like a tough sell. Beyond that B-movie opening, this week also marks one month since the Sundance Film Festival, and it shouldn’t come as a surprise that many of the buzziest titles still don’t have distribution.
This might sound like a broken record, but the problem goes well beyond reticent buyers, as the way these movies get made plays an even more critical role in what happens to them. In this case, the slew of Sundance stragglers should be a wakeup call for a smarter approach to making mid-sized American cinema.

On the face of it, it looked as if the Academy Awards got it right in the nominations on Tuesday in terms of diversity and inclusion. Not only did “Everything Everywhere All at Once” score the most noms of any film with 11 – including Best Picture – it also earned honors for three of its actors of Asian descent: Michelle Yeoh for lead actress, Ke Huy Quan for supporting actor and Stephanie Hsu for supporting actress, along with a Best Director slot for one of “Everything Everywhere’s” two Daniels, Daniel Kwan. That’s not to mention a fourth Asian actress, Hong Chau, nominated in supporting for “The Whale.” This is a full twenty percent of the 20 available slots in the four acting categories.

Amazon’s Hail Mary play to bring the NFL to streaming looks like a touchdown in Week 1.
The September 15 primetime Thursday Night Football gridiron battle on Prime Video between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers scored 11.9 million viewers just on the Jeff Bezos-founded streamer, according to Nielsen. The debut of the franchise on Prime Video actually bops up a bit more to 13 million when you add in local affiliates broadcasting of the tight game.
Overall, it looks like Tnf’s premiere on Prime Video further moved up to around 15 million sets of eyeballs when viewership on various devices is factored in, Amazon says. Gamer-focused streaming platform Twitch, out-of-home sites like bars and restaurants and the NFL’s own streaming service, NFL+, are also part of the mix.

Al Pacino created an urban legend with Tony Montana, and Brian De Palma’s Scarface (1983) is an icon of the gangster film genre; one of an unholy trinity alongside The Godfather (1972) and Goodfellas (1990). But when it premiered in New York, Steven Bauer, who played Manny Ribera in the film, remembers Martin Scorsese turning around halfway through the movie to warn: “You guys are great, but be prepared, because they’re going to hate it in Hollywood. Because it’s about them.”
The same could be said about the original Scarface. Studio filmmakers saw producer Howard Hughes as a rich interloper, bullying his way onto the lot with too many guns blazing. Conversely, Brian De Palma’s Scarface is about excess, and how success depends on it. Oliver Stone’s screenplay for the ‘80s movie used a gangster as an allegory for the Reagan administration’s war on drugs and the capitalistic greed of the era.

As of 2018, the Motion Picture Association (formally the Motion Picture Association of America) has given R-ratings to about 57 percent of the films they've rated, according to a report from THR. That number makes it sound like getting an R-rated film made is easy. However, with the advent of the PG-13 rating in 1984, slightly more mature films could get more viewers in theater seats, resulting in bigger ticket sales. Though R-rated films continue to be produced, the big box office take is far more often from ones with a PG or PG-13 rating. There is just a bigger audience, and an opportunity for a family night out with the kids, making them a safer bet for studios.
This put Vin Diesel in a difficult position with his sci-fi/action "Riddick" films. The first one, 2000's R-rated "Pitch Black," had a fairly small budget of around 23 million, according to Box Office Mojo.
