The movie was intended as the starting point for a "Son of Bond"-type film series. It not only bombed at the box-office, but was shunned by its own co-star, Gene Simmons. Years later, when a fan recognized him as "Velvet Von Ragnar", Simmons exclaimed "Don't tell me you SAW that thing!"
Whenever a fan compliments Gene Simmons on this movie, he's been known to respond, "You are too kind. I sucked in that movie."
The hermaphrodite angle was a later addition to the script.
Some of the lyrics from Simmons' nightclub act scene would later show up in "Spit," a song from the 1992 Kiss album "Revenge."
The costume Gene Simmons wears for his nightclub act, is actually the same costume that Lynda Carter wore for her 1980 television special ENCORE!, in which she tried to look like a member of the band KISS while singing "I Was Made for Loving You".
