One of the biggest threats of our times...

.....is certainly cancer.and someone who tells you he is not afraid of it is definitively a liar."Sauve-toi Lola" deals with this harsh subject, but it avoids the maudlin side of this kind of story (remember the last part of "love story") The title may mean "run away Lola" but it certainly means ,in the director's mind ,"help yourself ,Lola" "you've got to take the bull by the horns ,Lola".And Lola ,played by a never better Carole Laure begins her fight with small victories and big defeats, but never giving up hope. She meets other patients, one of whom played by an excellent Jeanne Moreau. This is certainly Drach's best film in the eighties, a return to form after the dismal Maupassant biography.Sadly he was to die four years later.
