In Bombay Talkies, the film commemorating a 100 years of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan plays himself, the mega-star whom a fan wants to meet come hell or high-water. This is not the first time that the Big B has appeared as himself in a movie. In fact in another ready-for-release film entitled The Struggler, Mahesh Manjrekar plays a struggler whose dream finally comes true when he meets his idol Amitabh Bachchan. Manjrekar's film has been ready for nearly 6 years now with no one willing to release the unusual experimental film. But now with Viacom 18's Bombay Talkies on release, Manjrekar is all set to find an outlet for his film. Says Manjrekar, "It's one of Amitji's undiscovered little gems. I think this is the right time to release the film. This is the 100th year of cinema. And the 35th year of Mr Bachchan in the industry. The Struggler is my humble tribute to him.

Actress Deepa Sahi is making her directorial debut with "Tere Mere Phere" and her filmmaker husband Ketan Mehta is impressed with the quality of work she has brought out in her first film."Deepa is incredible in handling actors. The script and the dialogues are also written by her, so everything is absolutely fabulous. I`m quite delighted and wonderfully surprised with the quality of work. It doesn`t seem like her first film at all," Mehta told Ians in an interview.A comical take on the contemporary idea of love and marriage, "Tere Mere Phere" has been co-produced by Mehta and devotional singer-turned-producer Anup Jalota. The film is releasing Sep 30."Deepa has been the producer of my last four films. Early last year she came up to me and said now you will have the honour of producing my next film. So there was a curious role reversal that was happening.
