- Just like the first Police Story, the American New Line Cinema cut of the film uses the international cut as a base, but is completely re-dubbed, with Ping Wu dubbing Jackie Chan and using J. Peter Robinson's music from First Strike and Rumble in the Bronx.
- In comparison to the Hong Kong version, the Golden Harvest English one is missing the following footage: -Pre-credit recap of the first film's events. -The trucks on the road interchange, intercut with Raymond and Uncle Biu disciplining Ka Kui at the police station. -The superintendent is praised for his actions in a meeting. -Biu and Ka-Kui head to meet Fung's secretary, which leads to a bug being placed discreetly during an office meeting. -Ka Kui pulling May off her scooter (excerpt from the first film). -Raymond questions Ka-Kui about the playground fight.
- The Japanese version is approximately 121 min long, with 15 minutes more footage than the Hong Kong version and different outtakes during the credits. It is missing a handful of shots/scenes in turn, however.
- For their restored master, licensor Fortune Star assembled a version close to the Japanese one. However, the ending is the Hong Kong one visually, whilst the soundtrack plays the theme from the first film.
