And now we finally get to the best one of all. The true peak of Buffy. The Season where it truly was at its finest hour.
After a shaky Season Four, Buffy returned in style for its fifth season, constructing 22 episodes full of strong characters, a brilliant arc, heartbreaking moments and some of the best hours that the show ever produced. Whilst all the previous Seasons of Buffy had numerous good qualities, it’s fifth just seemed to have everything. From the intense, gripping story-arc of Season Two, to the consistently brilliant episodes of Season Three, to the superb stand-alone hours of Season Four, Season Five is an example of a show at full throttle. It’s brimming with confidence, it knows exactly where it’s taking the story – and explores new routes for our characters that we didn’t even think we’d see.
So, what makes Season Five so great?...

And thus, a new era began.
Buffy Season Four is a controversial Season amongst fans. To put it simply – it’s not the favourite for many. This was a bit of an interesting year for the show – for one thing, it lost two of its principle cast members to a newly launched spin-off, the familiar high school location was no more and the characters were officially adults. Times were moving on for Buffy, and the things that we had gotten used to were going to have to change.
Thus, the show moved onto the life of a Slayer at College, and the adventures that ensued. Adventures that are a little, well, daft at times. Don’t get me wrong – Season Four is by no means a failure, and does hit some serious heights on occasion. If anything, it lacks the consistency of Season Three and the brilliance of Season Two.

Once upon a time, there was a goofy little show called Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It’s first TV outing, a mid-season replacement that only contained 12 episodes, premiered to mixed responses. Whilst the potential was clearly there, it was easy to write it off as just a little too silly, a little too… odd. Nevertheless, it was granted a Season Two, which premiered on September 15th, 1997.
And this is where shit got serious.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 2 is truly a remarkable season of television. This is the year when the writers realised that not only were they making something special here, but that they were capable of producing some incredible content. Whilst the first half does maintain some of the less than impressive traits of Season One, such as poor quality filler episodes (containing mummies) and some rather rubbish bad guys (the zombie from episode 2 and literally everything to...

“In every generation, there is a chosen one. She alone will stand against the Vampires, the Demons, and the Forces of Darkness. She is the Slayer.”
There must be about a million films, stories and TV related content that contains one particular scene. A vulnerable young woman, running for her life, terrified of whomever, or whatever, is pursuing her. She is utterly helpless to prevent her oncoming, horrible death – and most of the time is scantly clad. The scenario ends one of two ways – she either meets a terrible fate, or ends up getting saved by a dashing, Harrison Ford look alike male hero. Rinse, lather, repeat.
It once looked like that would be all we’d get from female characters in horror related productions. That was, until, a young writer came along named Joss Whedon, who decided that enough was enough. He had an idea of a young woman...

Fair warning before you jump in and decide you want to buy this game, it's gonna tug at your heart strings. That's the point though, as Ovosonico and 505 Games touts their game Last Day Of June as a story driven emotional adventure, but what does that mean exactly? We got our hands on a copy and dove in to find out:
Story
In Last Day Of June, you play Carl. Carl is paraplegic after a car accident took away the use of his legs, as well as his wife June. Sad and haunted by the memories of that fateful day, Carl begins to rework the events of that day through his wife's old paintings in an attempt to change what happened that day.
What's interesting is that the entire story is all told through body language. None of the characters speak a coherent language, so you'll find yourself connecting a...

When Aven Colony was launched by Mothership Entertainment, I did an early review of my first impressions of the game. Even at that stage, I knew the game was great and what I could expect from the rest of it. I gave myself more time to play the rest of the game, and can now present to you my final findings.
Story
When I presented my initial review, I felt that there wasn't really a story as there were missions that help you progress through each stage towards completion towards the next stage. As I progressed through the game, the campaign narrative become much more interesting, and I would be highly critical if I continued to state there is no story. There are some events linked in each campaign that progressed through each stage, and this was very well thought out and written. The creativity taken has kept me intrigued.

Blending together two genre's of the game industry isn't always something easy to do, let alone a compatible option in most cases, but here is Akupara Games to show that almost any two genre's can be mixed! Their title The Metronomicon: Slay The Dance Floor was originally launched on Steam back in 2016 and is now bring brought to the console!
Metronomicon blends together the music game genre with the elements from an RPG! At first I couldn't imagine these two going together well, but it turns out to be one of my favorite games that I have played so far! Here's the console launch day trailer:
Story
With a silly story, it features a team that graduated from dance academy and is off to fight the rave's that keep sprouting up. With the rave's comes new music and new monsters! While you may make some friends along the way, it...

Developer Naughty Dog brings us back, once again, for another adventure of exploration, treasure hunting, and self discovery in their newest chapter in the Uncharted series. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is a stand alone story taking place after the events of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End in which you take control of series veteran, Chloe Frazer, while enlisting the help of Uncharted 4’s Nadine Ross to find the Golden Tusk of Ganesh in the wilds of India. With such critically acclaimed entries in the series such as Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, does the new chapter stack up, leaving it’s own legacy? Or does it get lost in the shuffle?
Story
In Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, we find ourselves following the story of Chloe Frazer, one of Nathan Drake’s “partners” from Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, as opposed to following Nathan himself. As we embark on Chloe’s journey,...

On the surface, “The Good Fight” is a very, very easy show to review — or at least, to recommend to potential viewers. Did you like “The Good Wife,” CBS’s Emmy-winning drama created by Robert and Michelle King? Great. Watch “The Good Fight.” You’ll like it.
Okay, it’s technically not the same show. But it’s a spin-off in the best sense of the term, the platonic ideal of “let’s keep a good thing going.” The tone and rhythm which made the original legal drama so engaging remains intact. But instead of tracking the struggles of one woman attempting to escape scandal and find her own path, “The Good Fight” brings many of the characters who surrounded Alicia Florrick during her seven seasons of practicing law in Chicago together for a more ensemble-y, arguably more engaging procedural.

Nxt: Takeover Toronto occurred Saturday night and man, what a show it was. Nxt on the WWE Network is one of the best wrestling shows out there and for good reason. Too often in wrestling today, companies want to over complicate things with over dramatic storylines that border, and often fall, into ludicrousness. Nxt strips back some of the nonsense that has become commonplace in wrestling today and brings it back to basics.
Match #1-Bobby Roode vs Tye Dillinger
Before the match even starts, we get Booby Roode’s entrance and man was it a trip. A choir is on stage singing his theme song. Was it silly? Yes. But it also played into the over confidence his character has. A perfect meld of song and performer.
Tye Dillinger comes out and his outfit made him look like an extra from the movie Barbarella. The jury is still out on his character.

Comic Book Review: Indie Comic Spotlight: Clarity Girl #1
Story: Bill McCormick Art: Chris Thomasma Letters: Alex Giles/Matt Roscetti
Publisher: Gente Entertainment
Review: Clarity Girl centers on the story of a young girl with unique telekinetic powers just trying to live a normal life and do some good while she’s at it. At least, I think that’s what the story is about, because it’s all kind of jumbled together in this first issue. I think it’s a case of trying to do too much in too little a span.
We have Clarity Girl arguing with her boyfriend in a park over video games, then a text telling her to go home, and at the same time suddenly a thief stealing a woman’s purse. Then there's a strange flashback to a moment where I’m guessing someone stole Clarity’s purse as well. Clarity Girl uses her powers on the thug,...

It's been a long time coming, and now- finally- I get to chime in with my final verdict on Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. For those of you who've followed me the last couple of years, you know I've certainly been- shall we say?- "opinionated" when the subject of this film arises. Well, you may be surprised to hear what I have to say, as it may not be as terrible as you'd think.
First, I'd like to give you the opportunity to spend the night with me. No, not that way! I made a video journal, documenting my Thursday night, March 24, when I went to go see Batman V Superman. So you are hereby invited to watch the video below if you'd like to check out my comments in live-action form. If, however, you'd rather just stick to a written format, then feel free to scroll right...

The upcoming fourth season finale for ABC's "Revenge" will also be its series finale. News of the "Revenge" cancellation was first reported by EW.com, which got a full explanation for how and why things will end from Ep Sunil Nayar. Actually, the easy answer for "Why" is ratings: "Revenge" has been averaging roughly 4.5 million viewers and a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49 in live-viewership this season and with freshman drama "Secrets and Lies" comfortably outdoing those numbers and actually showing end-of-season growth, the writing was on the wall. The demise of "Revenge" was confirmed by ABC, which is somewhat significant since ABC has shied from official renewals and cancellations thus far this spring. The May 10 finale is titled "Two Graves" and ABC's description says, "Backed into a corner, Emily is forced to admit her guilt, but she'll have to decide how far she'll go before admitting defeat." Have you stuck...

The first trailer for the "Poltergeist" remake is here, and...wait, why did they do this again? With a script by "Rabbit Hole" scribe David Lindsay-Abaire and a solid cast consisting of Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie Dewitt and Jared Harris, I was actually holding out hope that Fox's update of the 1982 Tobe Hooper-directed horror film might actually give us something interesting and different. Now, I'm not so sure. To be fair, it's hard to tell how the finished product will be based on only two-and-a-half minutes of footage - and it's certainly possible that the Fox marketing team, with the beloved-ness of the original film top of mind, crammed the trailer with as many "deja vu" moments as possible. But...man, there are a lot of those. A few examples: The "hands on the TV" moment. Okay, I'm giving this one a pass. As iconic shots from the original go,...

Set in the golden era of Bollywood of 1960’s, The Xpose is a poor attempt at a whodunit plot, where the story revolves around the murder of an actress in a Bollywood party. This 80 minute musical thriller is a recipe that has gone horribly wrong for the National Award winner and director Anant Mahadevan, who is well known to have delivered screenplays like the famous Mee Sindhutai Sapkal.
Reportedly inspired by real-life events of Bollywood during the 60’s, the movie had the potential to be a blockbuster hit. It was the poor screenplay and editing that killed the real quintessence of the film. The film’s characters Zara and Chandni (played by Sonali Raut & Zoya Afroz) are reportedly based on Parveen Babi and Zeenat Aman.

When I first heard that Wgn was entering the original programming arena, my first thought was, “The Superstation?” I always knew Wgn as a local Chicago station that, for whatever reason, was on my Los Angeles cable service, and played reruns around the clock. For a brief time in the 1990s, it was a WB affiliate, which allowed me to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer three hours early and wow my friend with my uncanny ability to predict what will happen.
So I didn’t think much of Wgn making their own programs. Then I saw some clips from Salem and it started to look pretty good. When I watched the screener of the first episode, I was damn impressed.
I like this show.

As I begin this review, my heart is pained. Not because Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is bad or anything, I was just playing it and I startled so badly I think I had a mini heart attack. If you are looking for another terrifying, if a tad short, jaunt, this game is for you. If the abundance of distance noises, suspenseful music, bone chilling laughter of children, and the squeals of pigs are too much for you, do yourself a favor and stay far Far away from this game.
Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is an “indirect sequel” (think Final Fantasy sequels) to The Dark Descent, which was released in late 2010 and quickly became well known as one of the best horrifying, yet entertaining, experiences video games had to offer. Considering the success of the first game, it is no surprise a sequel was released. What is interesting is...

When I first heard that Diablo III was being ported to consoles I, like probably many others, was skeptical. After playing it, I cannot believe how natural it feels to play with a controller in my hand, but more importantly, it is so damn fun. Not just normal fun, but hilariously fun. Fun that spawns events and parties for years to come. Fun that exemplifies what couch co-op should be.
Sitting on the couch with four of my friends wading through demonic armies elicits emotions I haven’t felt since the days of Phantasy Star Online on the Gamecube and now we have TVs big enough to actually see what is going on! After hours of playing, I realized how much I’ve missed this style of a co-op game. I've played Diablo III on the PC with friends, and countless other co-op games over the internet or even in...

The Painkiller series is something of an oddity in modern gaming. Originally a late entry in a long line of ‘doom clones’, its history has been peppered with updates and expansions. Painkiller Hell and Damnation, the first full HD reworking of the 2004 original, is released with a £20-25 price-tag and is available via both download and shelf physical disc (for those seeking a truly authentic retro experience).
Despite the pun in its abbreviated title (Painkiller: H&D) this is as much a greatest hits as it is HD remake – taking levels from various expansion packs as well as the original and fine tuning the gameplay before adding a HD gloss. Still, the first thing you'll likely notice is that gloss, which is impressively lathered onto environments and enemies; many of which were first rendered in 2004. Despite a necessary predilection for hellish browns, reds and blacks the game still manages to...

Don’t get me wrong, I still very much love my Xbox and PS3, but there’s just something that always draws me back into the PC gaming world. James Franco is pretty much everywhere. The guy has both hosted the Oscars and been nominated for an Oscar. He's held art shows, appeared in soap operas, written his own book of poetry, directed and written several indie productions and is about to headline one of the biggest blockbusters of the year, "Oz the Great and Powerful."
No matter how hard you try, you can't avoid the multi-media footprint of James Franco.
But is he actually any good?
Now, we don't mean good as in, you know, his D&D alignment; he seems like a nice enough fellow after all. But as talented as he appears to be, Franco has certainly also racked up his share of detractors and critics over the years. So with that in mind, we thought we'd take a look at Franco's many achievements and apply a highly scientific scoring system to determine once and for all if James Franco is,...

See the bald photo of Shia Labeouf up there? Well, the bald photo is a photo of Shia Labeouf walking the streets of New York City while being bald. Shia recently shaved his head, and while it's infinitely better than the horrific hipster scruff that he was sporting later last year, it's still really awful. The mustache and beard combo isn't as Frank Zappa as it used to be, but I think there's a long way to go for Shia to be fully hot again. Namely? Stopping all of this "I'm Shia! I'm method!" business and maybe moving on to a few little things called humbleness, humility, and above all, smiles. I mean, it wouldn't kill boyfriend here to crack a smile every now and again, you know? Final verdict: Leave It. ... All of it.-Sarah Taylor Read more...

This weekend I had a lot of errands to run, plans with friends, and tasks to complete. That all went out the window Friday night after watching the first episode of House Of Cards. I sat there jaw agape as the credits rolled, I was beyond impressed. So impressed that I jumped to see if I could find a trailer for the next episode to give me a glimpse of what House Minority Whip Francis Underwood (played by Kevin Spacey) would be up to next. My jaw dropped further.
High profile lead actors, award winning directors, and an entire season put up all at once? What kind of brave new world is this?! To sum up my basic thoughts, this show would've soared on a premium channel like HBO or Showtime, and five episodes in I dare say it surpasses most of their current offerings.
Spacey aside, each character is...

The Fast, the Furious and the Motorway
You know the “first scene” formula: if it’s an action movie, make them jump out of their seats in the first scene; if it’s a comedy, make them laugh their asses off in the first scene; and if it’s a drama, then you have to stun them in the first scene. The problem is if your first scene is a lackluster one then you’ve just set the bar for your film pretty low. In “Motorway”, you will be treated to a car chase ( of sorts ) as the opening credits roll by. The cops are undercover, patrolling in a slick Audi A4 2.5, and hot on the heels of our villain, Jiang ( Xiaodong Guo ), in his pimped out BMW Z4. Charlie Theron’s agent has some serious Shazam going these days. She’s flirting with overexposure, sure, but the Oscar winning beauty has been in hit films across genres this season. Now she’s zeroed-in on the crime genre with a project suited to steal hearts as well as lives: Murder Mystery.
So who ensures the fun side of homicide is shown in Murder Mystery? John Madden, a director who is a bona fide sniper when it comes to heartwarming period pieces. Combine him with Charlize’s towering talent for inhabiting roles and inflicting emotion, and you’ve got an open-shut case on your hands.
Need I even provide evidence on Theron’s cinematic power? Let’s move right on to proving Madden:
First off, I’ll admit that he runs hot and cold at the box office. Even when he’s bringing to bear his talent for conveying a romantic atmosphere,...

Is there a more enjoyable action film than Die Hard ?
It’s seriously hard to think of any other film which has managed to so perfectly blend together explosive action, taut suspense and genuine humour. All of which is held together by an action hero as likeably down in his luck as cop John McLane – portrayed with a sublime mix of blue-collar normality and wise cracking heroism by Bruce Willis.
Pitting the New York cop against a gang of elite European terrorists, Die Hard’s simple but effective plot is propelled by the claustrophobic setting of the Nakatomi Plaza and the tight direction by John McTiernan (Predator). Willis doesn’t have Arnie’s bulging Pecs, Seagal’s martial arts skils or even Chuck Norris’ grizzled features. Instead, Die Hard gives us a hero whom we can all relate to – often realistically complaining about the dire situation at hand, showing signs of pain and emotional heartache,...

Yes, that’s the sole motto that Bittoo Boss, V.D.O. Shooter has for the audience in Supavitra Babul’s latest flick Bittoo Boss. Set in the heart of Punjab in a place called Anantpur, Wide Frame Pictures and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures’ Bittoo Boss is a story of a small town wedding videographer Bittoo (Pulkit Samrat) who earns a living from video shooting wedding ceremonies. What makes him stand out from the others in his line of business is the way he crafts the wedding videos ensuring complete involvement of all the amusing kin in a wedding.
Bittoo is definitely not a prototypical videographer and he makes it a point to include the kattos (wannabe dulhans) of the house for a special photo shoot. He takes complete pride in what he does and goes out of the way to capture those sesky naach gaanas.

With Super Bowl 46 just around the corner, we at Bwe felt obligated to give you our exclusive insight into the captivating New York Giants / New England Patriots matchup, but rather than bore you with the same old tired “actual football analysis” that we’ll all get sick of in the next week (then get sick of people complaining about being sick of it), we’ve broken the Giants / Patriots matchup down in a far more amusing (and some would say “more meaningful” and be wrong) way: Figuring out which team’s craziest fans are indeed the craziest. We’ve broken the Giants/Patriots fan-ridiculousness into Seven Thematic Categories, which we’ll analyze very non-arbitrarily based on a couple random photos in each category. Without further football-adieu (couldn’t think of a pun there), let’s answer the question – Giants Vs Patriots: Which Super Bowl Team’s Fans Are More Awesomely Ridiculous?...

For ages I’d avoided The Human Centipede.
Even as a longtime fan of the horror genre, the bad taste plot and the negative word of mouth surrounding the film kept me uninterested. In many ways, The Human Centipede sounded less of an exercise in gruelling terror and more like an ill-fated Jackass stunt gone horribly wrong.
Unfortunately, with all of the furore surrounding The Human Centipede 2, I knew that I’d have to finally watch both the original and the controversial sequel – if only to see what all the fuss was about. Its planned straight-to-video release was canned back in June, after the film was rejected by the BBFC on the grounds of its explicit content and what the BBFC argue to be a “strong and sustained focus throughout the work on the link between sexual arousal and sexual violence”.

“The Housemaid” or “Hanyo” is a 2010 South Korean erotic thriller directed by Sang-Soo Im and is a remake of the 1960 classic by the same name, that one directed by the late Ki-Young Kim (1919–1998).
It opens with a very distinct shot of a woman dressed in black perched on the edge of a balcony, overlooking the bustling street market below. In obvious distress, she takes one last look before leaping to a certain death.
Having lost the family housemaid, Byung-Sik (Yeo-Jong Yun) hires the young and beautiful Eun-Yi Li (Do-Yeon Jeon) as a replacement. Her duties will include watching over the pregnant Hae-Ra (Seo Woo), becoming a friend and confidant to elementary student Nami (Seo-Hyeon Ahn) and keeping Hoon Goh’s (Jung-Jae Lee) household in order. And thus, she is offered a place to stay within their manor-esque residence.

By most accounts, Harry Cohn was a royal son of a bitch.
For the uninformed, Harry Cohn was co-founder of Columbia Pictures, and the autocratic ruler of the studio from its founding in 1919 until his death in 1958. He was vulgar, crass, tyrannical, a screaming, foul-mouthed verbal bully i.e. a royal son of a bitch.
He was also a cheap son of a bitch.
Originally considered a “Poverty Row” studio, Cohn’s Columbia – at least at first – refused to build a roster of salaried stars as the other studios did. Cohn didn’t want the overhead or the headaches he saw saddling other studio chiefs with their contract talent. Cheaper and easier was to pay those studios a flat fee for the one-time use of their marquee value stars to give Columbia’s B-budgeted flicks an A-list shine. Back before Bravo became the "go to" network for botoxed housewives, the channel was best known for being the home of quality competitive reality programming (well, at least a lot of the time). That, of course, included Project Runway, one of the premiere reality series on U. S. television, as well as Top Chef, the show that finally managed to unseat The Amazing Race as the reigning Emmy reality show champion.
While Bravo still seems intent on putting a Housewives franchise in every state in America, the network hasn't given up on the competitive reality genre, having just this week launched Platinum Hit, a competitive songwriting show featuring Jewel and Kara DioGuardi as judges.
So is Platinum Hit Bravo's next Work of Art, the surprisingly engaging show about artists that was a surprise hit last summer? Or is it more the awful Project Runway rip-off The Fashion Show? (For the purposes of this article,...

One of the big changes about how modern-day video game consoles function is that they do a lot more than play games. The trend started with the first Playstation, which embraced the CD format and let owners play music through their TVs. Sony's been at the forefront multimedia multifunction consoles ever since, with the PS2 helping popularize DVDs and PS3s serving as the first Blu-ray player many people owned. As things shift to streaming media, each manufacturer's jockeyed to get partnerships in place to make their console seem more attractive. Microsoft grabbed the first big get with Netflix compatibility a few years back and since then it's been all about exclusivity.
Sony scored the coup when they entered into an agreement that secured Hulu Plus for them, letting PS3 owners watch every episode from every season of every show they offer from the networks ABC, NBC, and Fox. Members...

Looks like the "American Idol" producers have been watching their fair share of "Glee." Or at least have downloaded all of the show's mash-ups.
The Top 12 took on Lady Gaga and Steppenwolf in the group number during the elimination show on Thursday, Mar. 17. The songs that were mashed togther? "Born This Way" and "Born to be Wild."
The girls took on Gaga's recent smash hit while the boys tackled the SteppenWolf classic. So how did the kids fare? While it was pretty cheesy (aren't all the group numbers though?), we think they could hold their own against those "Glee" kids. (Ultimately, they would lose. Defeat is not an option for Rachel Berry!) Also, in a battle of girls vs. boys (Kind of "West Side Story"-esque), we think the girls took this one, no?
Final verdict: We will totally be downloading this "Born" mash-up. We're not ashamed!

Sports Parody Songs: The Jason Statham Movies of songs. The type of songs where, in the name of vague fandom, we completely abandon logic, rhyming, proper lyrical scanning, and the basic “Emperor’s New Clothes” ability to say “Wait a minute, everything about this is f***ing terrible.” Which, of course, is what makes them great. Sunday’s Packers/Steelers Super Bowl not only matches two excellent teams at “actual football,” but also two teams whose internet and local radio parody songs are absolutely, flat-out astounding (-ly terrible. But that’s the idea.) Let’s go through a series of exceptional Packer and Steeler parody songs genre by genre to determine whose (awful) songs truly reign supreme (-ly worse): Round One: Lady Gaga Parodies “Go Pack Go” “Steel Defense” Yikes – off to an excellent start of painfulness. It’s hard to call the Packers one way worse here, cause...

December 21st saw the necromorph outbreak begin on Xbox and PS3 as the long awaited Dead Space 2 (EA and Visceral Games) single player demo went, if you'll pardon the pun, "live".
How is it?
Well ... It's got its Really good points and some kinda low points.
If you've never played Dead Space or Dead Space: Extraction, don't panic. Dead Space 2's opening scene gives you all the information you need to know in the form of a really well told, well illustrated backstory.
After that, it's 'game on'.
The tutorial menu is kind of a pain as you can't just run through the entire menu at one go before really getting into the demo, meaning you have to keep going Back into the menu after you do One tutorial action. Boo. The "locator" function is great, though you'll use it a Lot...as there is no "map".

Marvel Universe vs. The Punisher 1-4.
Writer: Jonathan Maberry
Artist: Goran Parlov
This was a fun non-continuity miniseries that has the Punisher facing off against cannibals in the near future.
At no time does this story bog you down with mindless details or an attempt to take itself too seriously.
While there are not many surprises, there is a comfort in getting an honest depiction of a well-established character. It's the Punisher, he's supposed to kick ass, so in this story he kicks ass.
Maberry plays on the "am I a hero or am I a killer" a bit to give it some depth, but overall he lays the story out in fashion that compliments Mr Castle.
Parlov's art, on the other hand, is not very polished compared to his other work, but with cranking out four issues in less than two months, I understand.

Do you remember, at the height of the "Matrix" craze, a spin-off DVD was released called "The Animatrix." It wasn't a movie; rather, "The Animatrix" served up a collection of nine animated short films, each telling a short story set within the "Matrix" universe from different writers/directors. It was a solid idea with, as you might expect, a bit of an uneven presentation. Some shorts are excellent, some are forgettable and some would have been better left out completely.
I'm referencing this 2003 release because "Halo Legends," released yesterday on Blu-ray and DVD, is much the same thing. "Halo" is of course one of the biggest video game franchises on the planet. "Legends" is a similar sort of short film collection, but with a few notable differences: the contributors all hail from the anime world and none of the stories fit comfortably within the "Halo" canon established by the games and the books.

The Toronto-shot procedural Flashpoint has been an outstanding success in the annals of Canadian television. The series is a big hit with viewers in its native country and the 19 Gemini nominations that it received this year testify to the high regard Canada's industry professionals have for the show. Even more impressive, perhaps, has been the success Flashpoint has achieved in the United States. During its summer run on CBS, the first season w was the network's top original scripted series. Not since Due South has a Canadian show achieved that sort of success in a TV landscape where procedurals breed like proverbial rabbits.
Flashpoint is now in its third season on Canada's CTV network. To coincide with this, the first season has been released on DVD by Phase 4 Films in Canada and CBS Television in the Us (a Blu-ray edition is also available in Canada). The set contains all 13 episodes...

Valco Baby Ion Stroller
Valco Baby has a new, amazing lightweight stroller – the Ion ($399). Features include a smooth ride, tall storage basket, true one-handed steering with an ergonomic handle and extended sun canopy. It weighs in at 18 lbs (feels much lighter) and is ideal for city and suburban use. It also comes in a double version, the Ion 4 Two ($589).

It was really simple — connect the wheels and bumper bar, then snap the side and front fabric panels around the bumper bar.

Tandem strollers carry two kids, one in front of the other.

The lovers rave that they fit through every doorway.

The fold is pretty convoluted, but the result is impressive. First, you push the two sun shades down. Next, tilt the back seat forward using the recline mechanism. Then, push the...

For years I’ve loved my umbrella stroller, but I think I’ve found one that dethrones my old standby.
UPPAbaby’s G-LiTE stroller ($130) is the lightest full-sized umbrella stroller on the Us market.
It weighs in at just 8.3 pounds but it’s really packed with features like a cup holder and a washable seat pad, and it stands when it’s folded.
UPPAbaby is a unique, American company that uses planet-friendly practices like recycling cardboard, encouraging employees to telecommute and donating less-than-perfect strollers to charity. Unfortunately the strollers are manufactured in China like all the rest but that’s also why the stroller only costs $130 instead of $500. Recently I’ve noticed more and more UPPAbaby strollers carrying New York’s fashionable babies.
The G-LiTE is designed for babies over six months old because it doesn’t recline and they have to be able to sit up comfortably. It will handle a 40-pound child though,...

I carry 15-month-old Egan on my back in my Ergo Baby Carrier and he carries the diaper bag while holding 4-year-old Finn’s hand. My innumerable tote bags just annoy him, but he loves his Diaper Dude Dude Pack ($98).The Dude Pack is not covered with Peter Rabbit or rubber duckies. It’s a subtle, gray and black backpack designed specifically for hauling baby gear. It has a separate compartment for wet stuff, built-in stroller straps on top and an outside bottle pouch that works great for sippy cups or water bottles (though I wish there were two). A sizable and well-thought-out changing station appears out of nowhere.
