Reshoots, improvising on a massive budget and the search for an ending.
Hollywood once again needs a fix or three. A litany of reshoots are taking place on some big upcoming movies as filmmakers try to tie up loose ends and find some structure in their summer event movies.
Epic zombie drama World War Z has Brad Pitt as star and producer, but it’s taken a full year of filming before someone realised the third act was a bit, well… absent. A full 12 months after the production gleefully spent millions turning Glasgow into a zombified Philadelphia, the World War Z writers are now figuring out how it all ends.
Maybe Hollywood just enjoys working under the pressure of uncertainty. Men in Black 3 was a pretty chaotic shoot with a writer on set in the latter stages to come up with the lines five minutes before the cameras rolled.

With condolences to Lance Bass, it appears that Two and a Half Men star Ashton Kutcher will be the first celebrity in space!
According to Sir Richard Branson, who announced an A-List Guest List on his website yesterday, Ashton is just one of the stars who has reserved a slot on his Virgin Galactic spacecraft, which has a Tbd launch date since the ship is still in testing phases.
Ashton Kutcher Talks Love & Marriage
Joining Ashton on the "We Have Too Much Money Spacecraft" is author Stephen Hawking (who is totally gonna pull a Contact, no?). Reportedly Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Katy Perry, Jay-z, Beyonce, and Tom Hanks have all also purchased tickets on the flight, which will launch them 50,000 feet into space where they will get a zero-gravity ride and see Earth from a vantage point few others have experienced.
And how much did the stars splurge for this space jaunt? $200,000!

Brad Pitt has described the filming of Interview with the Vampire as a "miserable" experience. The Tree of Life actor recalled being demoralised by the physical challenges of the 1994 fantasy drama, further dismissing his iconic character Louis de Pointe du Lac as a "bitch role". Things had been going really well for Brad Pitt this fall, with glamorous film festival appearances, Oscar buzz and even some real-life heroics in Scotland. So, leave it to that never-ending thorn in his side -- his former marriage to Jennifer Aniston -- to complicate things.
Appearing on the cover of the upcoming Parade Magazine, he seems less than positive about his ex-wife in a number of quotes made available ahead of time from the article.
“I spent the ‘90s trying to hide out, trying to duck the full celebrity cacophony. I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out," he tells the magazine. "It started feeling pathetic. It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn’t living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage [to Aniston] had something to do with it.

Brad Pitt gives a rare, three-and-a-half hour interview in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, speaking from London where he’s promoting Moneyball and shooting the zombie epic World War Z. He talks about career highs, like meeting Angelina Jolie on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith: “We had some good workshops beforehand. Had some good laughs and ideas. That was just a great collaboration that turned into a greater collaboration.” He admits the couple may want to rethink their policy of never working at the same time — it helps with child rearing, but also means they can’t make movies together.

Generally, 28Dla writers like to stay away from tabloids. But when there are zombies involved, this reviewer, at least, gets drawn to the story, like an undead moth to the flame. The Sunday Mail, a Scottish tabloid slash newspaper, is reporting that Marc Foster's (Stranger than Fiction) World War Z will be shot in several areas around Glasgow. Certain locales will be set to imitate American ones, such as Philadelphia (Mail). As well, production on this feature is expected to bring in $1.5 million pounds for the Scottish economy (Fear). This production is currently searching for zombie extras. So, if you have that undead look, you can head over to Glasgow, Scotland with your resume in rotting hand. A few more trivia tidbits on the production are located below.

Who better than Kate, Cameron and Jen to make Sandy discover that being a single gal can actually be a Good thing?
In life, it’s true that we get by with a little help from our friends (there’s even a song about it!), so what better way for Sandra Bullock to survive husband Jesse James’ shocking infidelity than to hit Tinseltown with a pack of A-list BFFs?
Exactly.
As Sandra, 45, prepares to potentially enter the Hollywood Single Gals club, we at HollywoodLife.com had hand-picked three prospective besties who have been there, done that, gotten the ‘I survived my break-up with Brad Pitt’ T-shirt to prove it.

The first poster for the upcoming thriller “The Fourth Kind,” starring Milla Jovovich, Elias Koteas, Will Patton, Enzo Cilenti, Alisha Seaton, Corey Johnson and Daphne Alexander, has appeared online.
“The Fourth Kind” synopsis:In 1972, a scale of measurement was established for alien encounters. When a UFO is sighted, it is called an encounter of the first kind. When evidence is collected, it is known as an encounter of the second kind. When contact is made with extraterrestrials, it is the third kind. The next level, abduction, is the fourth kind. This encounter has been the most difficult to documentuntil now. Structured unlike any film before it, The Fourth Kind is a provocative thriller set in modern-day Nome, Alaska, where—mysteriously since the 1960s—a disproportionate number of the population has been reported missing every year. Despite multiple FBI investigations of the region, the truth has never been discovered. Here in this remote region,...
