Shannon Tweed is a beautiful woman. She is also an intelligent woman, as it takes more than beauty to sustain a career that will last this long. Shannon Lee Tweed was born on March 10, 1957 in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. Her star sign is Pisces. Her father ran a mink ranch in Markland, Canada where Shannon was raised with her sisters, Tracy, Sara and Kim and her brothers Lance and Jeff. Her father was in a automobile crash and was severely injured. Her mother struggled to support her and seven children all alone while her husband was recuperating. It took a long time for him to recover and eventually, Mrs. Tweed was forced to sell the ranch. She did not tell her husband what she had done to survive and when he found out, he divorced her. Mrs. Tweed moved her family to her home town of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. There, Shannon...

Some people watch the Oscars to see the pretty dresses, look for potential nip slips, revel in the weepy acceptance speeches, root against the leading contenders and yes, a few even tuned in for host Billy Crystal's paint-by-numbers movie spoofs.
But then there are those of us who wait for the annual "In Memoriam" segment that pays tribute to those the movie world has last over the past year, eager to see who has been omitted. In the past two years, that list has included "Airplane!" star Peter Graves and "Lost Boys" actor Corey Haim. In 2010, some fans were outraged that former pin-up and "Charlie's Angels" star Farrah Fawcett (who appeared in films including "Logan's Run" and...

Bubba Smith, the 6-foot-7 former National Football League player and one of the performers in the Police Academy movies, was found dead earlier today at his Baldwin Hills home in Los Angeles. Smith was 66. No foul play is suspected. As a professional football player, Charles Aaron 'Bubba' Smith (born February 28, 1945, in Beaumont, Texas) played with the Baltimore Colts, Oakland Raiders, and Houston Oilers from the late '60s to the mid-'70s. From the late '70s on, Smith began to sporadically appear in films. His one notable big-screen role was that of soft-spoken florist-turned-police cadet Moses Hightower, later promoted to sergeant and finally lieutenant in the Police Academy movies of the mid-to-late '80s. Those were inane slapstick fare that was generally derided by critics; the first movie in the series, however, became a major box-office hit, collecting more $81 million in 1984 (or about $192 million today). Hugh Wilson directed, and...
