The gory kill scenes in the film were not directed by Todd Sheets. By the time he had gotten around to filming this project, he had grown tired of filming violent death scenes and had his friends shoot and direct those scenes for him.
The film's ending, where zombies just appear out of nowhere to attack after the goblin is finally killed, reused a lot of archive footage from Zombie Rampage (1989), a previous film by Todd Sheets.
Todd Sheets has disowned the film and hates it, citing it as the worst film in his directing career.
The film's original working title was "Hobgoblin" but was later changed to avoid confusion with the already existing film Hobgoblins (1988).
The majority of the cast and crew were friends of Todd Sheets in real life.
