not bad

This show wasn't really excellent in any particular aspect but is quite more than average nonetheless. There is an adequate quantity of violence, though much care was taken to ensure that no scenes are extremely "scary" nor "disgusting" except for one. The corrupted police force and the internal conflicts between 2 gangland figures is featured in the movie.

Viewers can catch a GLIMPSE of the underworld in Hong Kong under the British Influence like the nightclub, brothel, gambling rackets, drug trafficking and corruption.

Nonetheless this film has some entertainment value, especially the fighting part. This film has historical values and purpose.

Perfectly serviceable

Another typical gangster vs. Police film from Hong Kong, this time based on a true story that took place in the 1950s. It's too cheap for the period detail to really impress, but generally it's a fun film with plenty to recommend it and certainly not the dog I was expecting. Ray Lui is the dedicated leader of the anti-triad bureau who joins forces with the likes of Simon Yam to take down Waise Lee's big bad. There's a little romance, some action, undercover work, and plenty of plotting to fill up the running time, and it doesn't skimp on the violence either, so all in all I'd call this one a bit above average.
