A sad and wistful movie
roedyg25 July 2006
This is a low budget movie. It basically interviews elderly West Coast natives and shows the beauty of their surroundings before and after commerce tears them apart in a frenzy of greed.

The meandering slow pace of the movie and of the interviewees gets you on their wavelength until when you see white-man's style of logging or commercial fishing you feel nauseous as the rapacious greed it represents.

In West Coast culture, the creator warns against "taking too much of any one thing", since it will take generations for the earth to heal the imbalance.

It is an uncomfortable movie, because it rubs in your face what a morally bankrupt culture we whites represent.
