Sex & Nudity

  • One of the movie's main themes is cheating. The focus of the story is the passionate and forbidden relationship between a married woman and a reverend. There aren't any explicit details, but sexual contents are present, as well as several scenes of nudity.
  • A servant girl masturbates with a candle inside a bathtub, but it is only implied. She undresses (bare breasts and buttocks are seen), then enters the bathtub.
  • A man is fully naked while swimming. His bare buttocks are seen as well as his pubic area. A woman is watching him.
  • There is a sideview of a woman who is completely naked. She turns around and her buttocks are partially visible. Later her left breast and erect nipple are visible.
  • A man forcibly kisses a woman and she slaps him.
  • Some native indian women are seen topless.
  • A man is naked while shaving his chest. His bare butt is seen briefly.
  • There are two attempted rape scenes with very little nudity.

Violence & Gore

  • Two sequences of native indians killing many people take place. The first sequence is brief, and shows a man's throat being cut and scalps being taken off. The second is longer and includes: a man getting pierced by an arrow in his throat, a man getting killed with an axe, men having their throats slit, explosions, beatings and shootings. Some blood is seen in both sequences.
  • A mad man has half of his head inside a dead deer's belly while dancing. Some blood is seen.
  • A man is found killed. Before that we see a scene of the man who killed him, cutting his throat and taking off his scalp (offscreen).
  • A girl is found killed.
  • A man is beaten up by indians.
  • A woman hits a man who forcibly kissed her.
  • A man is almost hang in public, but the execution is stopped and he escapes.
  • There are two attempted rape scenes. In one, a girl is almost raped by two men, but they are stopped. In the other, a woman is assaulted by a man on a table; she then manages to hit him in the eye with a burning candle. He screams in pain, she gets up and threathens him with a gun. He leaves.
  • A man is rude towards his wife.

Profanity

  • Some rude language, especially towards a woman, and racial offences towards native indians.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A man smokes with a pipe twice during the movie.
  • A drunk woman is seen drinking from a bottle.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The film has several dramatic scenes, and two fairly intense sequences of attacks and killings by the native indians.
  • A woman is mistreated, insulted and humiliated throughout the movie, and two attempted rapes are present.
