The official website for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Taiga Miyakawa's psychological suspense / battle action manga, Tasuketsu , has confirmed that the four-member Japanese visual-kei band Vivarush will perform its yet-titled opening theme song. Vivarush was formed by Ruimaru (vocals), Yukimura (guitar), Tohya (bass) and Parmy (Drums) in 2016. In December 2023, they made their major debut from Vap their first single "Uchoten Lariat." This will be their first anime theme song work. The websites writes, "Vivarush, who has always been creating music and entertainment with ideas beyond the boundaries of Visual-kei, will write the theme song for 'Tasuketsu' with their world view!" The four members of the band are expected to appear at the stage event for the anime, which will be held in AnimeJapan 2024 on March 24. Organisers have announced that the McM London Comic Con this May will host the European premiere of new Sunrise film Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin III. Comic Con will also welcome the series’ mecha designer and producer, Mika Akitaka and Osamu Taniguchi – both of whom will be signing autographs for fans and presenting a panel on the Saturday of the Excel London show.
Mika Akitaka has worked as a mechanical designer on a slew of Mobile Suit Gundam titles prior to The Origin, such as Mobile Suit Gundam Zz and Mobile Suit Gundam 0083, along with series such as Martian Successor Nadesico, A Certain Magical Index: Miracle of Endymion, Date A Live, Sakura Wars and Super Robot Wars Og: The Inspector. As well as producing The Origin, Osamu Taniguchi’s credits include The Piano Forest, Lupin III (TV Special), Moyashimon and slice-of-life comedy Ramen Fighter Miki.

According to Anime News Network, Takeshi Shudo, chief writer of the original Pokémon TV series and writer of the first three Pokémon movies, has died at the age of 61, a day after experiencing a subarachnoid hemorrhage at the Nara train station. Developer of the anime series Fairy Princess Minky Momo, Shudo also worked on Martian Successor Nadesico and Legends of the Galactic Heroes.

In the world of giant mecha and space opera, it’s hard to find anything genuinely new. The genre is so defined, there are few trails left to blaze, and so a new series will most likely develop along one of two routes: it can either ride the coat tails an already established franchise, and present itself as a sequel/prequel/reversioning (the new — and Excellent — Evangelion titles are great example of this), or a show can strive to be a parody, preferably a really Good one, such as Galaxy Angel or Martian Successor Nadesico.

Carl Macek was a pioneer in the field of anime, serving as producer and story editor for the popular Robotech series from the mid-1980s.
Macek was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on September 21, 1951. He worked at California State University Fullerton as a librarian of popular culture, and co-editor of 1979’s McGill’s Survey of the Cinema and Film Noir-An Encyclopedic Reference to the American Style (1979). He also wrote the book The Art of Heavy Metal: Animation for the Eighties. He became involved with anime in 1985 when he revised and edited three separate Japanese anime series, The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, The Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber Mospeada, into a three-generation Robotech Wars storyline.
