American Idol’s latest elimination round revealed the top three contestants, who will be taking visits to their hometowns next week, as one hopeful’s journey was cut short.
American Idol Recap
During their weekly “last supper,” the remaining four singers mused about what it would be like to get the heroes welcome they’d witnessed on previous American Idol seasons. Alex Preston seemed the most anxious to experience the support of his hometown – including the parades, visit to the high school and the intimate local concert they get to put on.
When it was Randy Jackson’s turn to toss in his two cents about Wednesday’s performances, he had the most praise for Jena Irene, who gave the best performance – of Elvis Presley’s “I Can’t Help Falling In Love” – during the show’s makeup, breakup and dedication theme night. Jackson also thought that Caleb Johnson had a great night.

History repeated itself for American Idol's Top 8 Wednesday night, as they re-sang the audition songs that originally earned them golden tickets to Hollywood.
Malaya Watson, 16, channeled her inner Aretha Franklin, belting a version of "Ain't No Way" that had Keith Urban on his feet.
"You had this voice right from day one, you just needed to be with it," Urban said. "You were with it tonight."
"You're blossoming into a star right in front of our eyes," said Jennifer Lopez. "You're gonna run away with this competition."

American Idol’s theme of the week was “Auditions,” which meant that the remaining contestants had to repeat one of their past audition songs.
American Idol Recap
In addition to the eight singers’ solo performances, Wednesday night on Idol featured a number of well-known duets. Alex Preston and Jena Irene sang Pink and Nate Reuss’ “Just Give Me A Reason, while Caleb Johnson and Jess Meuse took on “Stop Dragging My Heart Around" by Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks. Two of Idol’s younger singers, Sam Woolf and Malaya Watson, sang Colbie Caillat and Jason Mraz’s “Lucky," and country singers Dexter Roberts and Cj Harris sang "Alright" by Darius Rucker.

The theme for "American Idol" this week is going back to the start, which means performing the song they used for their initial audition for the judges. They will also be paired up for duets, which should be interesting.
1. Jessica Meuse, "Blue Eyed Lie," original song
This might be the most emotion we've seen from Jessica since her audition, you can tell she wrote this. She sounds great, really rocking the Stevie Nicks moments on some notes, but also showing off a great growly rocker voice. The only big criticism is that when the camera pulls back, she's standing there knock-kneed. When she doesn't have pants on, she needs a better stance behind the mic. Heh.
2. C.J. Harris, "Soul Shine," The Allman Brothers
This was ... Ok. Definitely let him show off some personality, even if he wasn't exactly on key in spots. However, I was kind of bored. It sounded...

All those and more could describe the tumultuous sophomore season of 90210, The CW's contemporary take on the pop culture classic, Beverly Hills 90210. While having a more cohesive year than it's inaugural season did, 90210 had a few tears in some areas that looked like a hastily wrapped birthday present when it was all said and done. Now, don't get me wrong. The kids of West Beverly's junior year had a lot of great moments that brought plenty a stupid grin to my face, but those salient events were cocooned by a lot of tomfoolery nonsense, which unfortunately out shined the goods by being the most talked about moments of the season. Showrunner Rebecca Rand Sinclair kept her promise by declaring to help the show find it's own groove and to leave the past in the 90s, but did the show get lost in it's own vision quest?...
