Malcolm Mowbray, the British director of “A Private Function,” died June 23, producer Deniz Erel confirmed to Variety. He was 74.
Mowbray was known for directing “The Revengers’ Comedies,” “Meeting Spencer,” “Out Cold” as well as the 1984 feature “A Private Function.”
Maggie Smith, Michael Palin, Richard Griffiths, Denholm Elliott, John Normington and Tony Haygarth starred in “A Private Function,” which Mowbray co-wrote. The dark comedy followed the citizens of a small English town in 1947 who were awaiting the wedding of Princess Elizabeth and Prince Phillip. The citizens had to ration their food, but the royal celebration was the one exception. They gathered to prepare and raise a pig for the celebratory meal — but a couple, Smith’s Joyce and Palin’s Gilbert, decide to steal the pig in an act of rebellion. The film garnered six BAFTA wins, including original screenplay and best film.

The third season release of Major Crimes is hitting May 26th, and I’ve got your opportunity to win one of three copies of the DVD!
The show, a spin-off of The Closer, has been doing well since it premiered, and the third season was the #3 scripted drama on basic cable.
Moreover, despite not kicking off all that well, it’s a show that has grown into itself, and found a more solid base of existence. The quality has grown in many respects, and the cases were far more interesting in the third season.
Mary McDonnell seems more comfortable, due in large part to the writing giving her a broader base of character to work with.
If you aren’t caught up, now is the perfect chance to get ready for the fourth season.
Take a look at more info on the season, and enter to win your copy!

Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge…and Zombies?
Based soley on the title of Lucky McKee’s (May, The Woods) All Cheerleaders Die, I had a kind of preternatural premonition that I would be enjoyin’ this one. Hell, based on that title, I can’t believe ol’ Lucky himself didn’t call yours cruelly and have him introduce the film like some sort of sexy William Castle (which totally could have happened if I was available, but of course my duties to the House that Fearsome Forry built have kept me too busy to make cameos).
So was my uncanny ability to completely judge whether I’ll like a movie or not based solely on its title still the stuff of legend,...

You know how it is. You’re 15 years old, you buy Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge by My Chemical Romance for £8.00 in HMV and it becomes one of your favourite albums of all time, making itself a crucial part of your formative years. By then they only play two songs of that album, because it’s 8 years old and (some) people have moved on.

Spike Lee's "Oldboy," which opens next week, features Josh Brolin as a character who is mysteriously imprisoned and, 20 years later, just-as-mysteriously released. It's then that he's got to figure out who locked him away (and why) and exact merciless revenge on the perpetrators. And one of the way the story drives forward comes courtesy of its propulsive score by Spanish composer Roque Baños. And we've got three exclusive tracks that will fling you through the darkened, blood-splattered corridor that is "Oldboy."
'Oldboy' Soundtrack - Track 6 - 'I Will Find You'

Earlier this year Baños composed the score for his first American movie, the gore-stained remake of "Evil Dead," proving that he could make the transition seamlessly. (The score was one of the few great things about that movie.) As you can hear in these tracks,...

I would hope for some space and privacy in order to work through this." It will be the first child for the X Factor judge, and although Simon hesitated about having kids in the past,...

New spoilers from the Feb. 21 episode reveal another tragedy is about to befall the ‘Tvd’ gang.
There’s never any shortage of bad news in Mystic Falls — usually it’s along the lines of “Your relative was killed by something sexy and supernatural” — but Rebekah (Claire Holt) is rarely on the receiving end of it. That’ll change on the Feb. 21 episode of The Vampire Diaries when Damon (Ian Somerhalder) “relays somber news to Rebekah … and is surprised at her reaction.”
I know this episode is still weeks away, and plenty will happen between now and then, but let’s try to put our heads together and figure out what “somber news” Damon could have for her. Is it that her beloved bro Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) is dead — again? Or could it be that they’ve already given Elena (Nina Dobrev) the cure, crushing Bex’s own dreams of becoming human?...

After a night of passion, Stefan & Rebekah are treated to a super-awkward morning after — courtesy of Klaus. Watch!
When we last saw Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Rebekah (Claire Holt), they were getting down and dirty at Rebekah’s place — but the next time we see them, things will be considerably less sexy. Enter Klaus (Joseph Morgan), who surprises the lovers on the Jan. 31 episode of The Vampire Diaries with an intense demand.
Here’s, word-for-word, what goes down between the Mikaelsons:
Klaus: Sorry to break up your sordid little tryst, but have you forgotten our paranoid brother, Kol, is running around with the white-oak stake and homicide on the brain?
Rebekah: He tried to kill me last night; I didn’t forget.
Klaus: Well, unfortunately, he appears to have absconded with my set of daggers.

Stefan’s getting over Elena by getting under someone else, and I think everyone is better off for it.
When Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) first broke up on the Nov. 15 episode of The Vampire Diaries, we all figured they’d get back together eventually. But after Stefan’s actions on last night’s episode, it’s clear he’s finally moving on — or at least attempting to move on — and I couldn’t be happier for him.
I’m referring, of course, to Stefan getting down and dirty with Rebekah (Claire Holt) in the final moments of the Jan. 24 episode after promising, “no feelings, no attachments.” Basically, it was incredibly romantic.
So why am I coming out in support of “Stebekah?” Is it just because I’m a dirty “Delena” shipper who’s glad to have an obstacle removed from their path to happiness? Believe it or not,...

In an updated new chapter of his book, 'Sweet Revenge , The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell', Tom Bower says the TV star told his close friend and 'X Factor' colleague Louis Walsh: 'I don't want any more...
