Both Director Robert Patton-Spruill and writer Theodore Witcher have disowned the film, with Spruill referring to the film as one big disaster after another, and Witcher calling it one of the worst movies ever made.
The film was inspired by the March 1990 art theft at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston.
