- Actors fake a mugging in an audience-participation theater program.
- A hit man accidentally kills an actor.
- There is a mugging, in which Bill Murray's wallet gets stolen. The muggers have a knife. No blood.
- Bill Murray accidentally fires a gun, not knowing that it was real, at another man. No one is injured or killed, but there is an explosion.
- A "freshly killed" corpse is seen on screen. There is no blood. Bill Murray tests him because he believes that the corpse is alive but acting dead for fun.

Sex & Nudity
- A woman seemingly goes to perform an act on a man to get out of a situation that she thinks will end in her termination, although merely ends up changing seats for a laugh.
- Although he thinks it is all part of an act, Bill Murray's character interacts with a real call girl for most of the movie. Consequently, there are a lot of sexual double entendres. When Bill Murray's character approaches the call girl's house, she is shown preparing for her next encounter, but no nudity and nothing explicit A scene of S&M foreplay in a hotel room. A woman is whipping a man and asking "What are you?" to which he replies "A very naughty boy." There is pink lingerie covering all the lamps. Murray mistakes the woman for an "evil lady torturer." The woman later remarks "It was our 45th anniversary."
Violence & Gore
- A woman is almost killed by a hit man trying to strangle her through the kitchen door. Bill Murray kicks another door open and picks up the hit man's gun and the hit man goes away. There is no blood.
- Men inject truth serum into Bill Murray (though, since his character believes the whole story to be nothing more than a game; he doesn't talk) and at one point he says "Yo, matey, you stabbed me with a pen." At another point they accidentally inject him with a real pen (as the truth serum is disguised as a pen).
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- The whole concept of the story is that Bill Murray's character mistakes a real bomb threat for an audience-participation theater, and thinks that everything is a game. He narrowly escapes death several times, still believing that the whole thing is part of the show.
