Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

A few kissing scenes. Nothing bad.

Violence & Gore

The movie is perhaps the most graphic of the Star Wars films, as it in large part takes place during the final days of the Clone Wars.

Many characters are killed in the combat sequences or are implied to have died.

During a lengthy sequence at the begining of the film, the character "Obi-Wan Kenobi" is nearly killed when a metal platform is collapsed upon him. This spurs the character "Anakin Skywalker" to decapitate the character "Count Dooku".

Anakin is consumed with remorse for that at first.

Later sequences of battle also entail numerous deaths.

The character "General Greivous" is blown to pieces by Kenobi.

The end of the war is heralded by a purge of the Jedi, shown in great detail, with at least five Jedi characters being killed in the space of three minutes, one who is shown to have been repeatedly shot, even after it's implied that she had been killed.

Finally, there are the sequences of the end of the movie chronicling Anakin's fall into becoming "Darth Vader." These begin with Vader's attack on the Jedi Temple, where it's implied (though never directly shown) he had murdered a number of child apprentices of the Jedi hiding in the temple for safety. Another child Jedi is shown to be shot numerous times by clone soldiers. Vader then kills in graphic ways the members of the Seperatist Council. Finally, he chokes his wife, Padme, nearly to death (she later dies of a broken heart at the conclusion of the movie) and engages in a massive duel with Kenobi. In the end, Kenobi slices off Vaders arms and legs, leaving him burning near a lava flow. The character "Emperor Palpatine" finds the charred, barely alive body and returns him to the capital planet for medical treatment.

Profanity

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking

Some casual drinking.

An alien leader, with raised vertical marks down his face and sharp teeth, might be scary looking to younger kids. That also holds true for General Grievious (more his demeanor than appearance) and both Anakin and especially Palpatine when they turn evil and have glowing eyes shaded by their hoods, etc. (and Palpatine's face turns old and craggy looking).

There is a scene in the Jedi temple where Anakin (turned Vader) enters the council chamber where the younglings (young children Jedi) are hiding. He then ignites his saber. Although we don't actually see the slaughter, the implication and the look in Vader's eyes might scare very young children.

Children with separation anxeity issues may be unsettled by Padme's death at the end as well, as she serves as something of a mother figure in the movie.
