"Nunsense 2: The Sequel" is just what it says, a sequel to the staged TV film of the previous year, "Nunsense." The same cast members are back. Rue McClanahan as Mother Superior Sister Mary Regina, Terry White as Sister Mary Hubert, Christine Anderson as Sister Robert Anne, Toy Johnson as Sister Mary Leo, and Semina De Laurentis as Sister Mary Amnesia.
Where the original stage set was made up for a production of "Grease," the set for this show is for "The Mikado." A different twist is that the sisters arrive at the Frauenthal Theatre n Muskegon, Michigan, with a police escort. As with the first show, this was filmed there and carried by Muskegon Lake Television, Inc. The production details are the same. It was written and produced by Dan Goggin. There is less plot in this, than in the first show. The nuns get a message that there's supposed to be a talent scout in the audience, but it turns out to be a hoax. This is almost entirely a revue with the different cast members doing comedy skits or songs, and the group doing much clowning around. Typical of the vast majority of sequels, it's not as good as the original. And, judging from the audience, there's little appeal for this show with young adults. It's mostly middle-aged to seniors who mostly seem to enjoy the show.
This is nothing of the caliber of the musicals made with professional singers and dancers. It might be considered a sort of modern vaudeville. But the only cast member who's a professional actress is Rue McClanahan.
