Interesting Brazilian soap opera that broke records in rankings all over the southern cone. About Dona Beija and her strong will to overcome a close minded rural society, no matter at what price and what would take to do so.

***SLIGHT SPOILERS*** this story is set in the Victorian era. lots of extras, lots of elaborate costumes. basic story is that dona beija rises from poverty to wealth through sex. i saw the series when i was younger and i can't remember if she was a gold digger or a prostitute/madam, but every man she encountered found her sexy and intelligent. the other women in the story hated her because she had what they desperately wanted- respect and power. throughout the series, she is looking for a diamond or peal or some other precious stone. in the last episode, the narrator says that a slave found it in the waterfall on her property. which basically means that this woman who had everything didn't have what she wanted most- love. not sure if it was based on a book, but i wouldn't be surprised- the period novelas usually are.

Beija was kidnapped by Mota ,one powerful man.This time she was Antonio's fiancée.When she came back every one specially women hate her because their are jealous.Antonio family force him to married somebody else.

Beija became very powerful woman.she has beauty,Money and power,and she is very nice person.She has 2 daughters.One with her true love Antonio and the second one with Juan ,her friend. she became a prostitute when she can t have Antonio's love.Antonio was married and have children.

Powerful men come around the world just to sleep with her. She ordered to kill Antonio,after she done everything to stop the killer,but is too late. Antonio was killed. The killer was arrested and he confessed that Beija ordered him to kill Antonio.Antonio family want Beija punish for what she did to their son ,But Beija was found not guilty and she leave town.
