This was the first show in a 2 year run for Jim Nabors following the end of his highly popular Gomer Pyle USMC. Mr. Nabors brought Ronnie Schnell and Frank Sutton from Gomer Pyle to help star in this variety series. In this initial offering his guests were Andy Griffith, Julie Budd, and a very brief appearance by Don Knotts. Mr. Nabors essays several songs, among them Green Green Grass of Home and The Impossible Dream. He also appeared in a couple of comedy skits that were passable. All in all a decent debut and one that would please his middle American fans.

Jim's guest is Carol Burnett. Nabors sings "I Can't Stop Lovin' You," and joins Carol for a medley of love songs including "I'll Never Fall In Love Again." In "The Brothers-In-Law" sketch, Loomis tries to hide Harry's car, which he accidentally drove through the living room wall. Carol is the unhappy wife of the Lone Ranger who spends too much time with Tonto. In the World Series locker room, the commissioner believes that one of the team members is a woman. On "The Extremely Late Show," the cast enacts "Along Came Jones."
