Just watched this Paramount Modern Madcap animated short on YouTube as linked from Cartoon Brew. It was posted because of the recent death of one Tony Peters who storyboarded this short. In it, a man who leads a humdrum life with a wife who loves the telly has an itch in the back which, when scratched, becomes wings. It causes a commotion when he starts to fly in public and when police threaten to arrest him, this man agrees to get a license. That's when the real trouble begins...With the whole thing taking place in England, most of the dialogue has that stiff-upper-lip way of talking that provides most of the humor. As directed by Howard Post in a style that is slightly different from other Famous/Paramount cartoons of this era, The Itch is one of the most wonderfully whimsical gems I've seen yet from this most uneven, quality-wise, studio yet. So on that note, that's a recommendation.
