- A henpecked husband sees a unicorn outside his window--or does he?
- Based on James Thurber's short-story about a mild,hen-pecked man who, while preparing his breakfast, looks out the window and sees a unicorn eating flowers in the garden. He rushes upstairs to inform his domineering wife, and she accuses him of being crazy and threatens to have him put away. He persists that he did see a unicorn in the garden, and she phones for the authorities to come take him away. But when they arrive, with strait-jackets, they find the wife rambling and raving about seeing the unicorn, and promptly take her away.—Les Adams <longhorn1939@suddenlink.net>
- A man is feeling emasculated by his constantly nagging wife. This morning is like any other morning where he goes about his regular chores around the house while she sleeps. But things change when he spots a unicorn with a golden horn in their garden eating their flowers. He can't help but wake up his wife to tell her the story. At first, she just wants him to leave her alone and let her sleep. But as he continues to nag her about the unicorn, she believes she can stop him bothering her for good by having him institutionalized since he is obviously delusional as there are no such things as unicorns. She calls in a psychiatrist and the authorities from what she calls "the booby hatch" to come take her husband away. When they arrive, they end up finding out the truth of what the husband saw and act accordingly.—Huggo
