The movie is a delightful and humorous expose of the social game of cricket where the "Games the thing". Set in England on a Saturday Morning our diverse 'eleven' pitch themselves against an out of town team and to a greater degree, each other. The Captain must juggle his silly mid on's with his fine legs, while debating whether a plaster on the bowlers hand is legal. This story can be transposed to any Saturday social sport, where the teams are made up of the workers, the unreliables, the wannabe's, and the unrecognised supporters. More subtle than any Jim Carrey movie and definitely funnier.

I've never bothered to write before but this film is wonderful.
Prunella Scales is great as the 'cricket' wife who sarcastically attends to the 'tea room' whilst her husband plays cricket.
Sounded boring but turned out to be one of the funniest films I've ever seen - particularly if you're into sarcasm.
Loved it, a little slow to start though.
