"Feel good" movie

A poor man's Frank Capra movie. Harried, overweight family guy must work out his relationship with his son and his father, with a set of wacky in-laws and job clients thrown into the mix. Lead actor is perfect as the world-weary working stiff. Some amusing dialogue and sight gags, including a weed trimmer run amuk. A pleasant, entertaining family movie.

Finally, a GREAT film for the whole family!

This is a great, completely enjoyable film the whole family can enjoy. It's a story with very real characters you can truly relate to, and many hilarious quirks that have you laughing out loud! "Falling to Peaces" touches your heart. With great acting and a very polished professional look, this film sets a benchmark for independent film makers both in story line and in qulity film making.

Terrific film!

Smart, witty, and poignant- it's obvious that these filmmakers have a future! The screenplay is particularly sharp- well-defined characters- plot keeps you involved - and I loved the Star Trek riffs! Hope to see this one on the big screen soon!

I really enjoyed this film. The acting was good, the storyline was interesting, and the dialogue was amusing. Some parts were not that good, but that's true of any movie, and quite frankly, this film is a lot better than half the crap Hollywood pumps out. I would recommend this film without reservation.

Fairly true-to-life writing and characters are strong. The film fights to steer clear of an ensemble piece, giving plenty of screen time to the main character--who works pretty well. But by the end, things start to feel kind of like The Big Chill. Target audience is definitely the 30-something crowd, although a kid is thrown in for good measure and pulls off his part with some believable only child issues. Strong first effort of overall filmmaking.

Oh boy is this bad!

Well, I was the only one in the theatre tonight - the first of a double header. I guess this was a sign, as the movie started off pretty bad, the dialogue seemed stilted, the acting was wooden, and the camera work was amateurish to a fault. The storyline took forever to unfold, in that anything of interest to the viewer never seemed to materialize! I found the main character, the father, just plain difficult to look at, as he was grossly overweight, and all the lines he was given seemed to leave me with that thought... "I can't even believe this theatre was brave enough to pick up such a bad little uninteresting indie film such as this!" Falling to Peaces was playing at my local mulitplex, a beautiful stadium seating theatre - not the tiny little art house theatre in the city, but all the way out at the edges of the suburbs! The story never seemed to catch my attention, as I kept looking at my watch and wishing it would just be over soon. I did enjoy one scene - at the ending, with the au pair and her employer, but I don't want to giveaway too much away about that spicy scene. It only lasted a clever and twisting minute or two, then it was back to lameland. Sorry, but I give this poor work a - 1 out of 10.
