An extremely poor porn video, but with name talent, "Laid Off" puns on the theme of the staff of a magazine getting pink slips -I guess an update to the 21st Century would be about Zuck's Meta instead. I'm always disappointed when watching a fake-story movie -this is really just all-sex, all-filller.
Vignettes show the reporters trying to get scandals documented for a big final issue, somehow thinking they can save their jobs (it's way too late) when it makes a big splash on the public. Each porn scene has a few seconds referring to this premise before XXX takes over.
One such scene is tossed in midway as actual filler, a couple of nonentities (Gregor Samsa and Tamara Lee) plop down on a bed, complaining how tired they are -too tired for anything but sex! No characters, no nothing, just let's get down to delivering more humping for the viewer.
Teams are Peter North and Tiara - fairly hot; Ashlyn Gere and T. T. Boy - seen 'em too often; and Tom Byron and Madison -ho-hum. The big scoop is supposedly outing a socialite played by Tonisha Mills for being a lesbian (not exactly porn material), but her sex scene with an actress named Dusty (trademark: pixie hairdo) has a confusing twist: Dusty's brother joins them for an incestuous threesome. Brother is played by T. T. Boy, with no connection to his previous appearance here as Gere's husband.
Finale has the big magazine issue cancelled, leaving our heroes high and dry. But in the ultimate cornball spirit of an old Judy Garland/Mickey Rooney movie, they decide to pool their severance pay and start a new magazine with the scandal stories they've just uncovered.
