The film was started in 1939 but stopped when war broke out. The production only resumed on 10 January 1944 with a complete different cast and crew. The original cast consisted of: André Luguet, 'François Périer', Annie Vernay, Conchita Montenegro, 'François Richard' and Jacques Janvier. The original crew had René Gaveau as the cinematographer and Marcel Lattès (who died in a concentration camp) as the composer.
This was to be the last film of Raymond Aimos, who was killed in August 1944 during the Liberation of Paris.
