Albert Pyun's excavation of his past work continues. The cult director recently turned up a telecine of the final director's cut workprint of Jean Claude Van Damme star vehicle Cyborg and now he's done the same for his 2001 effort Ticker.Starring Steven Seagal, Tom Sizemore, Nas, Jaime Pressly and Dennis Hopper, Ticker was produced by the folks at Nu Image who apparently performed radical surgery on the film after Pyun turned it in. In Pyun's own words: I was removed from the editing by the assholes at Nu-Image and they proceeded to destroy the movie by adding ridiculous stock footage, changing the setting from Chicago to San Francisco and not using composer Tony Riparetti's music score.As was the case with Cyborg, however, a telecine...

Even back in the day Marvel was tryinig to get some of its titles out in movie form but wasn't successful. There's been a Punsher that starred Dolph Lundgren and even a Fantastic 4 movie that was so cheesy it got shelved and has never seen the light of day and we also had a Captain America movie that will finally be getting a Director's Cut on blu-ray in May.
Director Albert Pyun says that the film once had a huge budget and the n the backers backed out and the film had to be finished on a shoe string budget. Pynn is going to ride the coat tails "so-to-speak" with the big screen release of Captain America and his recent Director's Cut release of Cyborg.
Here's what Pynn is describing his cut as;
It will be based on "my own 35 mm CA work picture and temp mix [that] I did before I left [the] picture.

Dennis Hopper’s long film career began with the 1955 teen angst classic Rebel Without a Cause with James Dean, and he helped usher in Hollywood’s New Wave as director and star of the counterculture anthem Easy Rider in 1969. He later became a respected character actor, specializing in such off-beat villains as the drug-addicted, obscenity-spouting Frank Black in David Lynch’s Blue Velvet (1986), crazed bomber Howard Payne in the 1994 action-thriller Speed with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, and Deacon in Kevin Costner’s soggy post-apocalyptic saga Waterworld (1995).
Hopper was born in Dodge City, Kansas on May 17, 1936. He moved to San Diego, California with his family in the late 1940s, and began studying at the local Old Globe Theater while attending high school. He soon signed with Warner Brothers and was featured in a small role in 1955’s Rebel Without a Cause. He was later featured as Jordan Benedict III, the...

Gotta love a man with a sense of humor.
Back in 2001 Albert Pyun assembled one of the stranger casts ever and attempted to shoot an action movie with them in just eleven days. In the cast? Steven Seagal, Tom Sizemore, Dennis Hopper, Ice-t, Nas, Jaime Pressly and Chilli from Tlc. The movie itself was called Ticker and was immediately relegated to the bargain bin.
Most directors would bury any material related to a film like this and hope nobody noticed. But not Pyun. While digging through his archives while preparing the crazy special issues of his films - the recently released Bulletface spanned five discs - Pyun came across a behind the scenes reel from the shoot and offered it up for public viewing here at Twitch.
Oh ... and that poster to the left? Not Ticker. That's new character art for Pyun's upcoming Tales of an Ancient Empire featuring his...
