Play the Percentages ran in syndication from January-September 1980, hosted by Geoff Edwards. Originally, the format was solid, even if it was ripping off Family Feud. Two married couples guessed the percentages of correct answers people gave to questions. First to 300 points won $300 and a chance at a growing jackpot in the bonus game. Geoff interacted well with the couples, and it was a fun half hour.
The second week on the air, the jackpot moved to the front game, where you won the jackpot if you nailed a percentage on the nose. Still later, the jackpot was reduced to a $10,000 starting point instead of $25,000. The bonus game was still worth $2,500.
By March, the couples format was dropped and it essentially became a remake of Twenty One, minus the isolation booths. Gone were the couples, replaces by two contestants. It lost all the magic. The bonus round eventually changed to a standard Barry and Enright prize package instead of cash.
