Replacement for original SMB2
ilovemarianow4 December 2005
The original SMB2 was much like the first, though it had major changes (such as the poison mushroom). Because of all these changes, it was considered to be too hard for Americans, and we instead received a modified version of a game known as Doki Doki Panic. The changes made were relatively small. First off, the four main characters were replaced with Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Princess. The 1-up mushrooms were just a picture of the current players head, and the ending bird-face that was on the wall of each level was a big mask. The original SMB2 was first released in America in an SNES game known as Super Mario All-Stars, though it was renamed Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels.

Japanese Version of America's SMB2
trezin1 September 1999
This game is what started the American version of Super Mario Brothers 2. This original version involves a similar story line as the American version, but it has four characters who seem to be from India .. and a couple of kids get pulled into a book so these four people try and help them. Very strange game.
